Hey guys! I really do appreciate all the support and new subscribers to this channel and I am terribly sorry that I haven’t uploaded or posted an update on this car in a long time but there will be more content very soon! Im not giving up on this channel nor have I sold the car, it’s still doing great! I also bought another panther car since the Vic has been such a solid car, I had to get another one xD

I owned a 89 Crown Vic. Purchased brand new. The car had the tow package, heavy duty radiator, limited slip rear diff etc. The only problems I had with the car were the OEM tires didn't last too long. The tires were poorly made. I put speed rated tires on the car which solved the problem. Winter was another problem. I could not open the doors in very cold weather because the door lock lever was plastic , not strong enough to unlock the door. It took a long time to warm up the interior too. Other than that it was a favorite car and it was sad to have to sell it. I had fun on the interstate because the truckers thought my car was an unmarked police car lol!

I always love hearing about other people’s experiences with the old crown Vics. This one is here to stay with me I plan I dumping a lot of money into it to keep it preserved. These cars weren’t meant to be saved but this one was saved and well taken care of.

Thank you! I do too, ever since I first saw this car I knew I had to get it. They don’t make them anymore and it’s really a shame. If I was around back then I would’ve bought one brand new

I appreciate it! I try to take care of her. She has her rust spots and minor dings but it’s one solid car. I still have yet to drive anything that’s more comfortable and relaxing to cruise around in not to mention it turns heads like a lambo. These cars are becoming pretty rare and I’m pretty much going to do whatever it takes to keep it going

That's a nice crown Vic you got and you're very right about these cars lasting a long time they don't build them like this anymore. I recently just bought a 87 crown Vic. From original owner with only thirty-four thousand miles. This crown Vic was never driven in the winter still looks like it's brand new. 302 EFI factory dual exhaust. Also 3.55 posi rear end. She's definitely a perfect example of a true survivor. 🇺🇲 🏁 🏁 😎 🏁 🏁 🏁

That’s awesome! There’s not many of these old crown Victorias around so take care of the one you have. I’d rather put 20 grand into this car to restore everything on it and have it look just as it came off the showroom floor than spend 50 grand on an SUV that everyone else has that will depreciate half its value in 3 years. These cars have the reliability of a Toyota and the ride quality of a Rolls Royce

@@cptchuff2741 yes you absolutely can! These cars are tanks, as long as the vehicle was taken care of they’re very reliable. One exception is the transmission that the car is linked to is a total POS, mine is going out which is why I haven’t made a video in awhile but it will be rebuilt in the spring.

If you can,get the car spray oiled on the undercarriage and inside all body panels and frame. Have the provider pay extra attention to the frame where the steering gear is mounted as it is prone to rust from the inside out. I have had all of my vehicles done over the years in New Hampshire where they use new chain saw bar oil to coat everything.

Glad to see another Crown Victoria fan ! I have owned my 1987 Crown Victoria wagon since June of 1988 and have towed various trailers with it ever since. It currently has 246,000.0 miles on it with the original engine ( 302 V8 ). I liked it so much I bought another wagon that is a 1991 which had an engine and transmission rebuild in 2020 after good service for 50,000.0 miles when the engine failed in 2010. My latest purchase was in January of 2022 of a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis 50th Anniversary Edition with 67,000.0 original miles in showroom condition. The smoothest riding car I have ever owned and a pleasure to drive. These panther platform cars are some of the best Ford ever built.
@mcnaldoschannel
@mcnaldoschannel Год назад
I have to agree. They don’t make em like this anymore and it’s a shame Ford doesn’t make the panther platform anymore. Keep your 89 grand marquise clean, don’t be afraid to drive it. They’re meant to be driven

I have a 1989 LX, and yes, the classic Crown Victoria and its other two cousins (Grand Marquis/Town Car) are indeed excellent in reliably, comfort, and are potential muscle cars with the 5.0L Windsor V8, let alone being so successful as police and taxi cars. Sadly, they're hard to find. They don't make cars like these anymore...

I have to agree with you they don’t make cars like this anymore which is very sad. I don’t know why we went away from just building cars that will last forever to making crap that falls apart in just a few years. I will never get rid of the crown Vic, it deserves a spot in anyone’s car collection because they’re that good

Inside of the trunk, pull the liner and check the inside corners. You can look down into the "valley" where the trunk meets the door panel, you'll see what I mean if you don't know already. VERY PRONE to rusting inside of that crevice as it's behind the chrome, make sure to check if you haven't already. All in all gorgeous car, mine's running on 86K original.
@mcnaldoschannel
@mcnaldoschannel 11 месяцев назад
Oh I’m aware of all the common rust spots, the trunk pan doesn’t even have a spec of rust it’s all factory paint, same deal with the floor pans, frame has rust but it’s all surface and I’ve been grinding it away and painting section by section. Keep taking care of that car they’re super reliable and comfortable.

Agree 💯 with you,these cars were built like tanks, and drive so smooth and the gas mileage on the highway with the efi 5.0 is great.i have 3 of these cars know them inside out,only complain is when the stock alternator goes out,plan on a 3 g swap.ask me how I know,the new ones they sell at the parts store suck .
@mcnaldoschannel
@mcnaldoschannel Год назад
Surprisingly I believe this car is running on its stock alternator, I’m planning on replacing a bunch of stuff as preventative maintenance this summer. I’m keeping the original parts just in case I need them because parts are actually drying up on these cars and I want to keep it for as long as I live. I drove this beast yesterday all day, taking it on the interstate and the looks I got were priceless. You just don’t see them anymore.

I like the fact that you will keep it stock and not install those stupid 22" wheels. I agree, for comfort and ease of steering, you can't beat the Crown Victoria or other equivalent full size car of that era. Styling of most modern cars is pretty bland. However - as for reliability, most modern cars can reach 200 000 miles, especially Japanese cars. They are just utilitarian, bland looking and not comfortable or fun to drive. There is a guy on RU-vid that has his own Crown Vic LTD that he's trying to get going. He doesn't have experience with diagnosing issues and he keeps buying parts to try to solve his engine that doesn't stay running. He's looking for suggesting in the comment section of his videos. Just search in RU-vid for 1984 Crown Victoria LTD and scroll down until you see the Blue/Turquoise Crown Victoria.
