Bro I have a problem with my 1991 civic, the lights on the speedometer won't turn on but the parking lot and everything else works but as far as the speed I'm going, I can't see nor anything in that area. I also can't see my ac/heat buttons, idk what I'm moving. Also my taillights wont turn on but they do when I brake or reverse. So I know it's not the bulbs. Please help
So, when you turn on your parking lights(first click on the switch) your back red lights should come on along with your front corner lights white/orange (left and right). Let me know if that comes on. Its looking like its a fuse. The bulbs in the back the red ones have two filaments (one for parking lights and one for break lights. I am at work and I will take a look at the wiring diagram. Did you have a car stereo installed lately? How long have you had the car? I would also check the two bulbs left and right to make sure that they are not blown. You should see like two filaments in each bulb.
Bad or dirty combo switch in steering column, Also sometimes the connections on the solder points go bad but mostly just grime in between the contact points in the combo switch (Light selector on left of steering wheel)
@@kf6rcpnot sure if you’ll see this but I’m also having the same problem!! And only the gears and parking and reverse light up in the cluster and nothing else
@@kf6rcp so my issue was that I couldn't get the cluster lights on. After checking all bases like fuses, wires, and switches. I was fortunate to have my crx same year and decided to plug up the cluster to the sedan to rule out anything else. So my lights on the cluster came up so it was down to either the bulbs or the circuit board. Switched out the bulbs and nothing. Now I knew it wasn't the wiring on the car but something in the cluster. I didn't feel or think about trying to figure out how to repair the cluster so I went to the junkyard and plugged it up and bam the lights worked with no issue. Now i just have to remove my mileage on my old cluster and put it in the new one.
Have a 91 accord, the gas light, battery light, shift lights all work. but the turn signal, brights, cruise and brake light all don't light up, any idea on what it could be?
My 97 civic dashboard instruments don't work. Went to the gas station to pump gas and when I tried to turn it back on it wouldn't. 10 minutes later I try again and it finally turns on. BUT, the rpm meter acts fishy and when I break (even if I slighty tap the break) the rpm goes all the way down to zero. Also, when I turn on a turn signal, the rpm goes up and down at the same time as the turn signal flickers. Lastly, if I turn on my stereo, it also brings rpm down to zero and my stereo also just turns off out of nowhere. Idk what's wrong..
So, if I remember right I may have had the same issue with yours. I remember watching my tach not move when I start my car headed to work in the morning then maybe 5 minutes later it starts to work normally then once in a while i see it drop to 0 then come back up(fluctuate). If I remember right a few weeks later my car stopped working and did not start. Trouble shot it to a bad ignition coil at least the starting issue and the tach worked normal until now with no issues. So, whatever fixed it was in my distributor area. Of course check connection at the back of our dash board panel(connector might be loose) also check inside your distributor for oil that maybe coming from a bad oil seal and all electrical inside the distributor. Also, check you wires to your battery to make sure they are tight not just snugged Aside from that good luck. Let me know if you any more questions.
Upon reading your comment it seems to be an electrical issue. Check you battery terminals make sure they are tight and not just snugged. I had the same problem few months ago. Same issues you were getting and I thought my negative side connection to my batter was good but it was slightly loose so I inserted it down all the way and tighten it to the terminal. My problem was my car seemed to die but never did here and my car stereo dies then comes back on and when I step on the brake and that is when my car stereo dies most of the time turned off. Also, when I step on the brakes and use my turn signal I can see my instruments lights start to flicker but the car never dies. I thought it was a bad alternator. Problem fixed until present day. So, concentrate on you electrical connection si what I can suggest. Let me know if it works. Good luck.
