The Oilers were certainly talented team loaded with big names: Warren moon, bruce matthews, lorenzo white, mel gray, Haywood jeffries, curtis duncan, drew hill, ray childress, ernest givens, chris dishman, willie fuller, al smith. Im absolutely shocked teams like the oilers and bills never won a superbowl. Its a shame, they were exciting to watch
Warren moon is truly a great qb. First undrafted qb to get in canton. First black qb to get in canton. A man who had an arm that could launch missles with a pickskin in his hands
I am a Bills fan, but that 91 Oiler squad would have been a far better match against the Redskins in the Superbowl. 93 was their last chance, 91 was arguably their best chance. They had the defence to keep explosive teams like the Bills and Redskins in check and they had the offense to put lots of points on the board.
Still hurts deep inside my gut that we lost the oilers. My first football game ever was 88’. Oilers vs Colts. I was 6. My entire family loved the oilers. Unfortunately they’re all gone as well.
