I have a 1993 dodge dakota 2.5l 5 speed in emerald green benchseat same wheels manual window tapedeck a/c etc the very same model as yours they are very tough trucks i haul everything with it . i also have a durango with the 5.9l rwd and have the 5.2l magnum . only problem you have to watch out for on the 2.5 is the waterpump mine has 132.000 miles on it . and change your oil because they are known for engine sludge but they never quite doing its job for me
Yea, I am still gushing over this truck. its for my son to use while in high school. The ease of access to parts, the cost of the and how easy it is to work on is amazing compared to modern trucks. Yep I am old school and do all if not most of my oil changes at 3k miles. Question to you have and info or vids to point me to on the blender door. as thats next on the hit list to get fixed.
Yep, the 2.5L of this time period only 90 something hp, and now that's it 30+ years old the engine is a little worn down. So yes it will struggle to go up hills at speed in 5th gear. Aka overdrive. That is my experience anyway
Well, mine would make it up a mountain. When traveling to visit family, there was one I would cross on the interstate with an elevation of 3300 feet, and it would require frequent downshifting. And I would get passed by just about everybody. But it made it. And it was an economy truck that usually got around 25 mpg on less hilly terrain.
You can put a 360 in her, 😂 i have a 93 club cab with the 5.2 a damn good motor and for that stupid abs censor 1A auto has a sensor delete witch is basically a plug for the diff and a re-router fuse under the hood
Nah, at the moment it will stay 2.5l NA, with the possiblity of 2.5L Turbo later or maybe a SRT-4 swap. right now its the kids truck to drive to school and work.
