I think that Levrone's BDB at 9:10 was by far the best ever in his entire career ! It was the only time he had those kind of details and seperation in his lower back during his bodybuilding journey . A thing that along with the crazy aesthetic lines and conditioning he presented , makes that year his best ever !

Not a Dorian fan but he definitely beat Levrone here, Shawn should have placed higher for sure.

Ray gets a lot of crap lately mainly because of his attitude and notoriously being "not too gentle" with other bodybuilders and with the bb community in his online rants here in youtube. But this is not a fuckin' personality contest...and damn, you just got to appriciate him. I really like your videos and your opinion about Shawn being so great because most people just bash him for a number of reasons other than his looks in his prime. Also I have to note that I tend to agree with his opinion about many cases - just not his delivery or self-righteous attitude. And despite I love Levrone for the person he is and for his exciting return after 13 years, and despite Shawn became a chubby asshole in the meantime, he probably was the better bodybuilder. Great physique, aesthetic as fuck, no real weakness, great poses, much entertainment. Keep up the good work with these videos! You're a funny guy, I like you. That's why I'm going to kill you last ;)

Deepest cuts at the Olympia maybe ever, why can't guys today realize that this is what people want, not bloated quads that look like dirty diapers and biceps with no definition whatsoever.

Always tho it Dorians aesthetics were underrated. After 93 it started to decline bad but he always had shots where he looked asthmatic even then but in 92 I think he has a really well proportioned physique

You should see if you can photoshop the best versions of the past Mr. Olympias for an all time greatest video. Like, 1990 Hanes,1993 Dorian, 1999 or 2003 Ronnie (I like the 99 version better), 2009 Jay, 2008 Dexter, 2016 Phil. It would be a gigantic pain in the a$$ but would be a fun video to watch.

As you may know, Dorian thought Shawn was 2nd during the contest, and was surprised by his placing. Vince Taylor had won the Ironman and Arnold Classic that year, and had finished 3rd in the Olympia in 1991, and had been hyped prior to the contest as a co-favorite along with Yates, but the medical treatment for his eye injury had caused him to retain water, and the challenge never materialized. 1992 was the first year Lee Labrada used and endorsed Met-Rx, and credited the product with his significant increases in muscle mass that year and thereafter. Labrada, while genetically disadvantaged in terms of size, was probably the most "Yates-like" competitor in terms of training and focus on perpetual improvement.

I think it was close cause Kevin did win the front double, side tricep, most muscular, abs and thighs and side chest And dorian won the back double, back lat spread and front lat spread.

Shawn should've been runner-up in my opinion, dude was always on !

1992 was Kevin Levrones best look a side from the weak back ( thickness) he was better every where else especially the legs the balance, condition and detail was unreal.

Dorian's leanest. The leanest line up of all Possibly. Interesting how gaspari sparked the ultra ripped, and this is the result. Dorian said himself he admired gaspari's ripped condition. Personally I prefer this condition over any other. And I prefer it in men's open.

As much as I like Kevin's physique, Dorian was untouchable, yes Kevin's arms and shoulders are better but Dorians back was so ahead of everyone...

High quality film pictures have existed since forever, definitely even in the Golden Era. But easily available and cheap consumer digital cameras did not come about until later in the 90s, though digital cameras have been around since the 70s. So the lack of HD pictures of some Olympia shows is not really about lack of technology. The Mr. Olympia in general is just not as well documented as other sports.

Must humbly disagree about the side pose around 8:00ish. Kevin was NOT hitting the pose in the traditional sense; he was doing something more akin to a "front chest." Dorian lacked the roundness of KLo's muscle bellies, but he was definitely thicker and harder.

While very detailed and shredded, Kevin is lacking so much muscle in the back. It's surprising. He looks like a physique guy

I know i'm in the minority but i never thought much of Dorian Yates....just saying. Much preferred the physiques of Shawn Ray, Kevin Levrone and Flex Wheeler etc.

Look at the muscle separation holy crap. Their skin was vacuum sealed into the crevices. You don't see that now days. Now everybody has a thick layer of something under their skin idk what but shoulders, arms ect are just smooth, no fibers no crevices. I wonder if the bigger muscle of today actually makes it harder for the skin to show the crevices, because it's stretched to the limit. Maybe there's a sweet spot w muscle size, skin elasticity and showing muscle detail, and today's guys are all beyond that lol

15:35 like a comparison between Ronnie and Jay. Imo Shawn' s back is similar to Ronnie's (in terms of roundness and separation). And Lee's looks kinda similar to Jays, still good but messy and more emphasis on the upper back

Evaluating shitty photos that are so widely varied makes it impossible to come up with anything conclusive. With the exception that Dorian mopped the competition. End of story. Love, Roni did not have the genetics to win the Mr. Olympia. He’s such a great guy and so likable but he just did not have it. Hopefully future Mr. Olympia’s have multiple cameras, multiple photographers multiple videos, all at the correct angles and high resolution and without shitty stupid backgrounds that distract from the physiques to where things can be evaluated very effectively. I don’t know why the leadership always hires really stupid people for both the representation and lighting and also the photography and videography .

Judging by pictures doesnt work...never has. Dorian was by far the biggest and best conditioned in 92. To be honest it really wasnt that close. Judges had an easy night that night.

Man I really value Tomn8r judging, but how cannot people see Dorian's lacking muscle separation! how could BDB be given to him when Shawn and Kevin were clearly showing better separation in the delts arms and delts and even a better lower back! look at the Levrone's RLS: that's just Phil Heath level of thickness and conditioning, he has more meat down there!

Dorian’s arms were really hurt by his training split, he was not doing bic/tric work on a separate day, i’ve not seen him do any kind of hammer or reverse curls as well, therefore his brachialis was underdeveloped, which takes away the width of the arms. And i also think that HIT is not suited well to grow arms, they respond better to higher volume / less weights - if he spiced up his training a little bit, he would have been flawless. HIT was also the reason why his left arm melted with injuries so…

i never once liked Dorian's shape or physique & had he not gained that extra 40lbs a yr later, and had the judges stayed with a more classy look awarding Kevin, bodybuilding would have been a totally different thing thereafter

No judge or BB historian ever would say Dorian had a strong chest or arms. In that regard he was the exact opposite of Arnold. They were mediocre at best and were his weakest bodyparts by far, especially later in Dorian's career.
