Everyone talks about the Ron Francis blueline goal in game 4, but I thought Jagr really turned that series in PIT's favor. The 2 goals here- and don't forget Jagr assisted the tying goal in game 4.
If the Rangers hold on to win Game 4, they most likely win the Stanley Cup, IMHO - Boston and Chicago were inferior clubs in '92. BTW...Messier was absolutely dreadful in Game 4. D-R-E-A-D-F-U-L.
@@amazinmets8439 Coulda, Shoulda, Didn't. Please. How about if the Pens wouldn't have lost game game 3 in OT, this would have been over in 5. If the Rangers were all that, why did they finish last the next season? Washington was up 2 games to none on the Pens in the semi series and lost. I guess they "should have" won that too, but they weren't good enough so they didn't. That's the reality. I wish people would stop with the "if this happened, or this happened, then this would have been different" crap. It all a bunch of revisionist whine.
@@10.11.9 Stop. They didn't, and that's all anyone knows for sure. For all anyone thinks they know, they get the shit end of the stick against Boston or Chicago anyway. There is no "most likely" scenarios in playoff hockey about things that should have or could have happened. You win or you don't. There's no fictional, parallel universe outcomes. If you want we can debate all the Presidents Trophy winners who "should have" went on to win the cup because everyone else was so inferior. Caps fans love that debate. I guess whatever helps people sleep.
sooooo many jagr haters ... he is hockey god you dont get 1600 points by luck u kno... and Bill Guerin ???? Ya i see very well what the islanders did with his leadership
Ranger fans came to see Jagr's greatness. First class ego and a bit of a jerk but on the ice? This guy is one of the most naturally skilled and beautiful hockey players ever witnessed. He was only 20 doing this stuff! He put up big numbers then but they would've been bigger if he wasn't always on the 2nd line. Once Mario was sidelined and they needed Jaromir, he exploded. The year they played together? A combined 131 goals and 310 points in 82 games (12 with Mario out)!!!
Rangers had a great team in 92, but didn't have the right coach yet. Roger Neilson was too wimpy, which is why Messier pushed for Keenan in 94 and it panned out. Also didn't have enough grit, which guys like Matteau and Noonan helped out immensely. Steve Larmer was also a great veteran pickup. But I loved the 92 Rangers and am proud of what they accomplished. Hart Trophy (Messier) Norris Trophy (Leetch) and Presidents Trophy (most points). It was a hell of a year!
wtf are you talking about? Jagr has two more cups than the bush league islanders have had since he entered the NHL in 91, so please. Give it a rest. In addition, someone who seems to have a moniker honoring Chris Campoli should not be casting despertions about any NHL'er with above marginal talent, much less this performance by Jagr.
