I remember a team being so talented that they outscored the eventual AFC Champions 62-6 over 6 quarters for two consecutive weeks. The members of this team should be up at night thinking about how much talent they wasted
Amen.! ZERO excuse for BLOWING the huge 2nd half lead built at Buffalo. Should've given Dallas a greater challenge instead of either of Buffalo's feeble showings.
Well, it was mostly the side effect of never realizing that running the ball, not gaining a yard and keeping the clock moving was actually more beneficial than running 6 plays, getting a first down and not even taking 2 minutes off the clock. Run and shoot? Run and 💩. The oilers either blew them out or gave everybody chances to get back into the game. They lived and died by it.
@@adamthornberry8475 Jimmy Johnson said that Houston scared him more than any AFC team. When Buffalo eliminated them in 1992 he said the whole coaching staff breathed a sigh of relief
@@patrickm7483 Yeah, it's a trip that the great Warren Moon never got to play in a Super Bowl with that Run and Shoot offense. To this day, I believe the Cowboys would have had much more trouble with the 1992 Oilers offense than they did with the '92 Bills offense. And yes, I know that 1992 Cowboys defense was well coached and it was well schemed, but they wouldn't have held the '92 Oilers to just 17 points, unless Moon had a game like he had in the game used for this page.
Unsung and career backup Steelers CB Larry Griffin got 2 interceptions in this game, which included a crucial late fourth quarter pick (2:33:24) that would help the Steelers win the game. He would get one interception the rest of his career and be out of the league by 1994. But no one can take away his two-pick game vs. the Oliers in Week 1 of the 1992 season. Just saying.
Dude this team was so deep with talent that Leon Searcy Justin strelsyck was on the bench Levon Kirkland joel steed Hoge was on the bench!!!! And how deadly would they have been if Lou lips had stayed with the team!!!! Oh yeah Ernie Mills and Thigpen too!!!! 😲😱😲

My whole class was laughing at me when I said the Steelers could beat the oilers this game. Oddly quiet in class the next day 😊 Oh yeah, David still owes me $5. Plus 30 years interest 😉 The Steelers had a preseason game against the Giants in which the giants left their starters in ( for the whole game) after the Steelers went to back ups and the Giants starters got physically dominated and couldn’t do a thing. That’s how I knew the Steelers were a good team this year.
I remember when Bill first took over I was skeptical but he for yrs got a lot out of a little not like lameduck Tomlin who's wasted ten yrs the steelers can't have back
