Trove ... "a store of valuable or delightful things" ... great affection for the mickey b ... and yes this should never be destroyed deleted .... it is Trove.
im 16 and been listening to jungle since 11 that my dad introduced (hes no longer with me sadly (passed a year after he introduced me. and so i carry on the passion from him now)) . like over those years im aware of fantazia, the eclipse at coventry, hmm wat else... roast christmas jungle event. uhh my favourite: jungle fever.. dont get me started on dj hype and randall and more.
Oh, man, it sucks, you lost your cool as* dad, I'm so sorry for your loss. He'll be very proud you, flying the Old Skool flag. Who's your favourite MC? Mine is GQ. The Randall sets, and Kenny Ken sets he did, epic. Rave On, Dude :0) P.S. there should be sets from Dreamscape, Helter Skelter & even probably Milwaukees nights on here - if you ain't already checked them out, go for it - you won't regret it :0)
Good lad/lass I was 13 in 93 I acquired a edge tape and was all in. Man the 90s were special what I can remember anyway. Yeah and sorry for your loss. I'm blessed to still have my close family at ,44 and that's a real blessing
Who else was 18 at the time, pumping it out on tape, in the stereo of their first car, with poorly done cutouts on the parcel shelf, speakers bouncing around all over the place.
I remember the creative efforts of taping aerial wire to my bedroom ceiling cos I had to get that crystal clear reception on the pirate stations to smash out another killer tdk cassette recording. Back then it was all about having the badest mix tapes peace love getting high n music, miss those days man so much 👊🏻❤️
Yes mate I had a Vauxhall nova with two Wharfedale house speakers in the boot 200w of power lol One day had an accident and one launched at my mates head He has to have three staples in his head
I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to my hard-core history but everything this mickeybeam has and touches is the absolute perfect capture of a time that cannot be recreated. Spot on and respect
I bet you were the lanky twat at the back wearing walking shoes, just about nodding your head, refusing pills, booze and sniff. Imagine being enough of a tit to think being a snob with this kind of music is a talking point.
Police forces was turned into army's against ravers, radioshows all over europe playing this music was shut down, and replaced with shows playing girlpower and boybands, and look at all the people missing those times and this music. Quite a few, right? Who in here believe it went out of fashion? Oh no, it was trampled under foot by those who feared the raving state of mind would spread into society. Love, freedom, and equality didn't fit the plan for this bright future we live in. Thanks Mickey for keeping the music alive and out there. The spirit, the love, the euphoria, and the urge to rebel exists in every note, and maybe one day.....
And look where we are now with the police! It is the eternal struggle of love against bullshit and oppression in one of its latest manifestations never let it fucking stop! Rave on till will go on to the land of the ancestors Amen. Let’s go!
GPOLICE I suppose me “saying” That the struggle with police is a struggle of “love against bullshit” is “technically” devisive...as certainly there are officers who are full of love, and are good people. I would agree the majority of them as many say. However I think they are often asked to step in where other un armed folks would be better placed to solve certain issues. How often do people call 911 in the states for silly reasons for example (very often it seems). Also I don’t mind being devisive on occasion as if one doesn’t present an issue in contrast to something else then it can be difficult to draw a ring around it. I’m for unity except when I’m not 😂Also agreed, let’s go! 😂 (without police stopping us because it should perhaps not be their job) I’m not here to divide and conquer just call attention (though I think y’all probably see the light already😛)
Back when techno branch out to a another genre. You guys in the UK had too much fun. Great decade to be part of. London wasn't the only city banging out some serious tunes. Manchester (A Guy Called Gerald), Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow and Cardiff City was rocking along. This set is off the mutha-hugging chain. 🔥🔥🔥🤯🤯🤯
This channel is one of, if not the best for old skool on RU-vid .. for those of us touching 50 I can’t help but smile listening to these tunes & remembering proper good times 😁 .. thank you ☯️
Only three tunes in and can already tell this is gonna be one of my all time fave early 90s hardcore/jungle mixes. Went to my first rave aged 17 (Orange and Camden Palace, London). Never looked back. What great times. Awesome to see youngsters on here loving it all too. Special time in music. Feel so lucky, if down a few brain cells :)
Was a regular at all Orange nites throughout 92-94 from Fridays at Camden to Sats at The Rocket and of course The Astoria and The Hippodome on bank holidays- mega nites every time - great music and proper crowd!
Maybe a part of getting old and nostalgia…. But for me music will never be this good again. Compared to the shit around today, u realise how lucky we were in our youth. Keep on keeping the old Skool alive. Brock out crew!
It is. This music is great but u also experienced it during your formative years so nothing is gonna do it for you the way this does. I can relate yo. There is still good tunes coming out nowadays u just gotta wade through alotta overproduced cheeze..Russian neuropunk and Russian phonk is killing it rn 4 me. And there's still back in the day legendary drum n bass cats dropping plates 2day at least.
Born in 1990 and when I found this style of music I immediately fell in love with it. I associate it with the coolest video games I’ve played, awesome days at video game arcades, really cool Japan-only imports, Bomberman Hero (a lot of the 90s Bomberman games had this kind of music), and amazing dreams I had during summer nights. I also associate this music with the times I was in the city or at the beach and saw truly cool people, often strangers, who were mystical and had this weightlessness to them, like all the problems in the world couldn’t get them down no matter what. Anyone else have similar feelings?
Your subjective experience sounds really cool my friend!, for me smells and tunes and the energiser of some e's/pills made memories that stay with me untill my 40's. bless bro )
I've been fallowing your channel since 2010, (under a couple accounts as they came n went) I just wanted to say thank you for sharing an amazing selection of tunes over the years!
In 1993, I was 16, locked into Kool fm whenever they were live, absolutely in awe of the underground movement and the way it spoke to me. Proper made my hair stand on end and still does to this day like nothing else I've heard since. Great time to be alive.
Yes Mickey B, another sure fire winner. Selection and mixing on point as ever. Dunno who the smart arse is who thumbs downed the mix but can be sure aint nothing wrong with this mate. Big da fuck up again!
Evertime I hear good ol school jungle my mind and body go back into time, most uplifting and roller coaster ride. Toronto was the was the shit in the mid 90,s!
this is one of the best sources on youtube i ever found. thank´s so much! in the 90´s you got this sound in germany occasionally in berlin, sure in mannheim, as there the british army was. the UK sound was strictly "for the happy few" and hard to get over here. went to london twice a year just to buy records and visit the clubs. - love this mix, have several of the vinyls myself. "you got me burnin`" again.
Absolutely love this mix. Probably my favorite right now! Feels like a collection of greatest mystical jams finely rolled up into a lovely spliff. Love the cover, would buy a shirt like that.
Vicky McDonald unfortunately times change and music goes with just be blessed or was here in our life time parents got Beatles zepline pink Floyd etc we were blessed proper rave music unlike the shut on radio today don't even think there is such a thing is underground music anymore as we all now that's where all the best tunes came from be happy be blessed just educate the younger generation so they do not get poisoned by main stream posh that we all hate
Amazing how great some of these tunes sound still. Tbh I didnt really enjoy/understand the UK Hardcore sounds back in the day and gravitated to more euro techno/trance. But in hindsight now I wish I'd paid a bit more attention because there are some real gems and its a style that still sounds really fresh.
I bet this guy against the 99% of the “good” and “famous” djs that are spamming themselves everywhere on insta. This is simply another level! Keep it up Mickey!
Wow naughty mix this is and no Mc spoiling it I dunno who likes it more me my 600 watt stereo or my fucking neighbors sick mix big up from the brummie massive
Oh mate Peshay Piano Tune... I got the last one off the shelf passed back to me in Blackmarket with a big Rasta smoking a spliff in the corner... good times 😎
100% PROPER MIX! - 'Engineers Without Fears - Spiritual Aura' and 'DJ Mayhem - Inesse' all the way for me, killer tracks :) Cheers for mixing this been jigging at my desk at work all day to this hahaha - Went to a good few Raves in the day, Fusion / Obsession / Helter Skelter and Sterns (Mansion House) - Great times, Great music, Great memories ;)
Oh Mickey, you're so fine You're so fine, you blow my mind Hey Mickey, hey Mickey Oh Mickey, you're so fine You're so fine, you blow my mind Hey Mickey, hey Mickey!! “Do another set from this era” you picked out so many nuggets BUT there are soooo many more!! 👍🏼
Good afternoon Mickey Beam. When I used to jog before being hit by a car not so long ago and living to speak on it, you and a couple of other rave good vibes channels kept me jogging HARDER as i jogged endurance style. Back at the gym tomorrow. Had a sense to listen to you earlier today after being in a very bad place, emotionally. Thank you.
U mate are a true raver. My most favourite mix at the moment great start with all your dreams. Bringing in so many amazing tunes from an era that changed music all together
this is why i always hated gabba techno and all that euro shit this is real jungle hardcore rave and techno combined uk style leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee you go mickey beeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Was reminiscing about the best days of my raving life ('90 - '95) the other day. Thought I'd search up, glad I did coz found this gem of a mix set. Big up Mickey Beam from the 'Baby Raver' aka King Spee 😎
What a TOP TOP selection of tracks!! I love this. Do you know how many times I played this when I am doing roadwork. Big up all the prize fighters, putting in the work.
Love my old skool jungle techno up to back end of 94 before it basically ripped off the original rave sound.. but it's only my opinion tho.. respect to all the newest and ardkore party heads keeping the vibe alive and kicking to the core 😉😉👍👍
