Millennials say today's league is more athletic, but I don't see anyone today constantly facing these hits and falls and get right back into the game. Today's players only LOOK like they're tough, 80s-90s players, WE'RE tough!
Wis Dom I think an NBA roster from 1-12 or 1-13, whatever the case may be today is probably more athletic than teams 25 years ago, but not by much. The "bigger, stronger, faster" phrasing is way overplayed today. Jordan and Pippen, especially in the first 3-peat years, would be more athletic than most of their opponents if they were in the league right now. And this is based on early 1990s training and nutrition.
You can feel the insane energy in The Garden for this game 1. Fresh off the 7 game 92' series and the Knicks outplaying the Bulls during the reg season
@@coreyortiz9913 Hello Corry, let's talk about reading comprehension. The statement says, The Knicks outplayed the Bulls in the Regular Season, thus game 1 is at a very noisy MSG, you see how that works. Pretty simple, no real antagonist vibe. Imagine getting angry over something you don't understand or comprehend, that's like walking around in your own little hell, who knows what might trigger you eh? Could be nothing at all.....
Idk about kids today not being aware of how good these teams were. I’m sure they see these games and can tell. But anyone thinking today’s teams could hang w/these, I don’t think so. I don’t think they’d have the legs to score for 48 min vs these teams. U had to fight thru bodies for all 48 min vs teams like the Knicks, Bulls etc. Having lax d on ya like today makes shooting a helluva lot easier in the 4th. Both these teams playoff D is something that’s flat out extinct now.
What happened to the NBA? Today's league is so boring to watch compared to the 90's era. Remember when NBC would have triple headers on a Sunday afternoon? It was awesome
Globalization screwed the NBA. The late comish David Stern started it all by selling the NBA brand overseas and a clean cut image of the players, no swearing, no shoving, no melee, etc.
Back then, i used to skip school just to watch nba games live in TV. Lol. Btw i used to cheering for Knicks, not because I hate Bulls.. Its just that any other kids that i know are all Bulls' fans hahaha. Good 'ol memories
Starks was hitting 3s like Steph Curry. But as always against MJ the question is, can ya do it for 7 games? That's where it's hard to beat MJ and Pip. And when they got Rodman and Harper, forget it - that lock down D just puts the clamps on ya before long in a series.
I watched this series live. This series was super intense. Nothing close to this today. Just think if Jordan attempted more 3s Jordan took more hits going to the basket then KD, LeBron and Steph combined.
Why would he shoot more 3s? That’s what made him so great was not settling for long 3s. Being aggressive n taking it to the rack.. people fail to realize even last year a 2 pt shot was more valuable than a 3. Look it up.. n no one is going to b like they r today from 3.. they could be very physical on the perimeter n weren’t allowed to do all the traveling n carrying like today. That’s why u see them on perimeter they had to turn their back. When someone can put their hands into your waist n push you it makes it extremely difficult. Not to mention they allowed the defense to trap an off arm of the ball carrier against his body if he wasn’t actively protecting the ball with his off hand. You could pin that off arm to the ball carriers body. Taking a bunch of 3s would b beyond retarded. It’s not even smart now unless u have guys like steph n klay n Poole.. the other teams need to stop shooting so many. It will turn back. If a team would play different by not shooting so many they would win. More free throws ,more possessions because of offensive rebounds, it doesn’t keep your defense in bad positions like missing 3s does.
MJ toying with his little brother Starks! After '91 & Detroit got swept, this was the toughest competition the 6x World Champs would face! Pacers in '98 took us to 7 & almost beat us! MJ vs Starks was worth the ticket, tough little dude who wasn't afraid of MJ! Starks earned my respect even though the Bulls are my hometown team! Best matchup of the '90's Bulls Dynasty!
The best era, the best teams, where players played for passion, for competition, not for money. That's why they are Hall Famers. You will never see that again.
This is the only series in Jordan’s career he got “shut down”. Only shot 40% and that’s counting a 50+ point game 4. People forget down 2-0 Jordan was trash in game 3 ( 3 of 18) but Pippen dropped 30+ and saved the dynasty. I was 8 years old during this series. Still hurts. Knicks blew 3-2 the year before but the 93 team was superior to that 1. Painful
The Bulls had a 3-2 lead in the 1992 Semi conference finals, before Ewing and Starks scored 27 points apiece at Madison Square Garden to force a Game 7 in Chicago.
People love the Physical play and cheap shots of the 80s and 90s when Jordan wins in the end, but when it resulted in him losing to the Isiah led the Bad Boys, the whining begins.
🤣🤣🤣...ALL teams complained about the trash detroit was doing..did you watch them play..you think Jordan complained..check the Celtics..as a matter of fact Jordan was the best against them..they were sweeping everybody else
@@rasakiki I get it. But I'm moreso referring to how the fans and media act today as if they long for the physicality of the play from the 80s and 90s NBA when they constantly 😢 about the Bad Boys. The Knicks, 76ers (Barkley & Mahorn) Heat, Jazz, Trailblazers, & Pacers were just as physical with hard fouls as the Pistons but because Jordan is undefeated against those teams in the playoffs, their physical play isn't vilified.
@@rasakiki who'd Laimbeer try to injure? I recall Bill Cartwright"s elbow taking Olajuwon out, as well as Karl Malone with Isiah....not a peep from the selective complainers.
thelegendsqb1 r u kidding? Beverly just locked up Lebron u have a clue what pip would do? N harden?😂😂🤣 oh lord he won’t b shooting a hundred free throws he’s done giannis would b a beast so would kawhi but no more than scottie n Jordan obviously is better than both a 48 inch vertical the highest ever in nba history n hands as big well bigger than kawhis runs 4.3 40 they r fucked
That was intentional on Scottie Pippen. you can clearly see him swat his hand down on doc rivers to cause him to hit the floor harder than he would've on his own . but of course this was the bulls and Michael Jordan's team! but a lot of times they didn't make the calls back then it was just the way the game was played back then! just like when pippen was falling Charles Oakley swatted his hand down on Pippin causing him to fall harder than he would have fell on his own but they got the call . the game of basketball has changed a lot when it comes to fouls because today you can barely touch a guy today and you will get a foul called on you its rediculous not to mention if you say something about these bullshit fouls today you will get a technical I mean its rediculous and people have the nerve the unmitigated Gaul to say LeBron is better than Michael Jordan give me a break if Jordan played in today's game he would average 40 to 50 points a game . because you can't hand check and you can't make it hard on players coming in the hole . you can't touch them . back in the day #80s/90s you played a price every time you came in the hole and you didn't get the call most of the time .. They use to try to kill Jordan and pippen when they came down that lane
