1993 VW Cabriolet transmission repair and clutch replacement part 2 

Super grateful for this video. Been searching online forever and a day for a video for this trans coz the 5th gear housing on my trans cracked and so I wanted to replace it and when i lifted the housing up it came up with that selector shaft tube with the spring on the end and obviously it wouldn't go back down so now it means I have to disassemble the box to rectify the issue. Now that I have seen this vid I am that much more confident going into the project. Thanks again.

is it possible to weld that vw gearbox differential and turn it sideways to get RWD, is it strong enough to put the cardan in the place where the half shaft goes
