Crazy it feels like just a couple years ago that this car came out! How is this car almost 30 years old? That explains why I hardly see em around any more
Seeing it that new is awesome. Aahhhhh the good ole days when you could get a basic new fun car for a reasonable price without all the dealer markups and constant reminders of how terrible the world is. I wish I could go back.
What I remember about this car (and the Civic) was the visibility. It was like sitting in a go-cart. Modern sports cars (except the 911), you have hood bulges and blind spots all around. This thing, you could put the front tire on the apex every time.
I don’t think the were tho. It’s just that there was no American performance at this point. Precovid pricing insanity you could get into a mustang gt (2020) for this amount inflation adjusted
I drove a 1995 Integra LS for a few years, then tossed a JDM H23A-vtec engine in it. 1/4 mile with no weight or perf mods for the 2.3L was 14.0 in the 1/4. That car was FUN! One funny bit is a pristine example will go for it's original dealer price now. Not many compact cars can say that.
You can still find them today for $1,800-$4,500 online. I just bought my 95 GSR back today. I paid $500 for it with a blown head gasket in 2019. $100 for OEM Honda part. If your handy with a wrench you can get more power. I also had a 2001 GSR turbo 10sec car. I also have a 96 LS does 40mph in 1st, 70 in 2nd gear. Has full 2.5" exhaust and cold air intake. Im putting a VTEC head and turbo with GSR trans in it 5-600hp is easily achievable for a few thousand bucks, research and the desire. Like the type R commercial "its in your blood"
the GSR was about 250 lbs heavier, not to mention driver/environmental factors. I've seen Motor Trend test the exact same car on separate reviews and get a full second difference in 0-60.
Totally agree, but the first two years of this Integra had the bugeye headlights in Japan as well. The updated front end appeared at the same time as the Type R in 1995. Also in Japan you could still get a carbureted D-series engine on the Integra until early 1995. Can’t imagine how slow that was.
@@itsabigchungus watch the video. The front rubber part of the bumper fits in a very 1990s fashion where it meets the metal hood and fenders. Fit and finish and materials are very different now..that’s all.
