Omg absolutely!!! My Buffalo Bills we're great but any true football fan who knew the game inside and out and the quality of the nfc depth chart and coaching staffs knew the nfc teams were far superior
@@Davidjon1946Wide right was as close as they’d get. Those Bills teams lacked line play. Washington and Dallas had the bigger lines on both sides of the ball. Reason the Colts didn’t win more with Peyton Manning was also line play. The GM of both the Bills and Colts was Bill Polian.

Maybe someone should have told them the SF Dallas game was the SB. San Fran could have scored 70 on this SD team. That was one of the biggest mismatches in SB history.

The 49ers were going to win that SB that year no matter what. 94 is the mirror number of 49 and they so happen to win that game with 49 points. I really thought he would hit the ground running taking over the Detroit lions but In his defense the organization made Scott Mitchell the face of the franchise. He lacked the leadership and heart he had with stan Humphreys granite stan wasn't the most athletically gifted quarterback but he had heart and respect in that huddle .
The 94 steelers had a lot of great qualities. Fewest giveaways, the league's best ground game, and the best pass defense in the afc, by far. Also, a league leading 55 sacks

That was a huge upset. The Steelers had their chance to get there especially when they played at home. EIther way, the 49ers were going to stomp any AFC team that was going to play them that game because the 49ers especially Steve Young were so focused to win that game and for Steve Young to prove himself that he is a Super Bowl winning QB.

This game still haunts the Steelers to this day . 82’ and 94’ games should have been wins . I think the Steelers could have beaten the 49ers 2 weeks later . Dom capers the Steelers DC went on to Carolina as the head coach and beat the 49ers in their first year .

That 94 team had a ton of talent . 82’ team was up 28-17 in the 4th and Bradshaw threw a bad pick that started the come back . Bradshaw even talks about it to this day . Chargers in 82’ weren’t as good as 81’ team , they were blown out by the dolphins in rematch 34-12 the next week .

as I watch this as a KC fan, 2 things stand out to me about the mid 90s Steelers teams...1) they were a LB factory LOL 2) no disrespect to O Donnell, or even Stewart, but the only thing that kept them from being great was a top QB...they had as good a roster as Dallas and SF...where they fell short was at QB..O Donnell and Stewart were servicebable...but neither wasnt beating any top NFC QBs in a SB on a side not, this Steeler team would NOT have beaten the 94 SF team, but they sure as hell dont get lit up for 50+ points and they keep the game a lot closer...probably a similar outcome as their Dallas SB score
This one broke my heart. Barry Foster was an amazing RB & Neil O’Donnel doesn’t get credit for all that he did as the starter. Humphries’ 50 yd TD pass was a great throw. Young Rodney Hampton celebrating when Steelers 4th down pass stopped. Junior Seau was a beast.
@@richr.7698 Yes Rodney Harrison was a rookie 5th round draft pick who became a beast on the field. Sometimes I look at Rodney Harrison & Junior Seau as an earlier version of Ray Lewis & Ed Reed. Batman & Robin. I’m both cases it sucked for my Steelers but players like that deserve respect & admiration regardless of the team. The NFL has do many great stories & players & I can’t dislike a great player simply because my favorite football corporation didn’t draft him before another.
dont know about 4..but he'd probably have more than 1..he reminded me of a better version of Marty S for KC..he coached so well that his teams never had the chance to pick high enough in the draft to get the better QB and he was always able to make due with below-average QBs
They cost me 100 bucks, i knew they'd kose but i really didn't expect the Niners to cover the spread so i took the chargers and the points and if I remember right SF won by 26 points and the spread was 21
No salary cap yet thus the NFC championship game was sometimes SB. Until Denver. Also Denver's rose as the legendary NFC qbs aged. Elway was great but Shannahan and TD made the difference.

Idk why, the 90s Steelers were extremely overrated. Everyone got a shot in on them. In 92 the Bills smoked them, 93 the Chiefs, 94 it was the Chargers, they BARELY survived the Colts in 95, then the 95 Cowboys got them. They even let the 96 Patriots dust em 28 - 3 lmao. That whole decade was a waste for Pittsburgh

As the Chargers defensive linemen were getting set for the final play they were telling the Steelers offensive linemen as they lined up "Where's your Superbowl video now, losers..." Then Gibson deflects the pass....
I was 13 yrs old. I'm 42 now. I guess maybe it was because of the expectations going into that postseason, maybe my age being relatively early in adolescence, but man, this is still the most painful Steeler loss I've ever endured. I remember going outside and taking my basketball and slamming it against the side of the house for what must've been a good 20 minutes

Steelers destroyed the Cowboys statistically in Super Bowl XXX. 2 ridiculous interceptions thrown by Steelers QB Neil ODonnell handed Dallas the game and made millions think the game was fixed.
I would somewhat agree BUT I would say the game was supposed to be fixed for the Steelers to win but the Chargers didnt pay any mind to the script hence why so many players from that team passed away in the weirdest ways. I truly believe the Chargers will never again see another SB because they ruined the NFLs chance at Steelers/49ers

OMG, the games arent fixed...outside of the 85 season Marino was never good in the playoffs and Steelers were out there playing with a back level QB..both were primed for being upset..
Miami defense just got shredded!!! Humphreys was getting allowed with throwing into triple coverage . Marino didn't have much for a supporting cast either that year
