Wait wait wait, is this the Tom Brady "game manager" that everyone says was carried to the first 3 Super Bowls??? Pretty sure he threw a 60 yard bomb to go up 10-0 and then another 40 yard bomb to set up his 2nd TD to go up 17-3. That was after the Carolina 2003 Super Bowl in which he threw for 350 yards and 3 TDs, and the 2001 Super Bowl where he had the game-winning drive. LOL.
@@jasonwardy8192 Good point. If memory serves did Curtis Martin have a big play in the 97 playoffs to advance the Pats to SB? The Steelers have beat the Pats on occasion but since the era of the Steel Curtain?
I'm a Bills fan, so the Pats have beaten the crap out of my team for 20 years. But for as many big wins as Brady and co. have had during this timeframe, I think this is the most impressive win during their long dynasty.
@@robertzenniful Yeah, but that still doesn't excuse the poor officiating in the game. People still talk about that Super Bowl to this day even 18 years later.
Those patriot teams just cheated Well documented patriots probably knew every play that was coming in this game. Who knows how long they taped practices or walk-throughs or whatever else they did before they got caught.
Still love all the trash talking from the Steelers and their fans over that 34-20 game on Halloween. Bottom line remains, we won the title at their place. This game remains my favorite of the 3 in 4 era not counting those Super Bowl's.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ltTKxqXzzIQ.html&ab_channel=NewEnglandPatriots I gotta go with 2001. That was the epitome of a team effort especially defensively and they were as underdog as it gets
There hasn’t been a good defending champion team like the Patriots that’s had to play really good 1 loss opponent in a high profile game since this AFC championship showdown. With the regular season extended it’s that much more unlikely to happen again.
I love how overconfident and undisciplined the Pittsburgh Steelers were under Cowher and how they still are the same under Tomlin. Nobody to blame for their own shortcomings except themselves.
This is the FIRST TIME I (Bills fan, so I HATED Tom Brady and the Patriots with a passion at this time) for New England; after seeing Ben struggle MIGHTILY against the Jets the week before, I KNEW New England was gonna blow 'em out
In all 3 of Pittsburgh’s Super Bowl appearances in the Roethlisberger era, they never played the Patriots in the playoffs those years. I still wonder if the 2008 Steelers would’ve been able to beat NE had Brady not gotten injured?
I knew the Patriots were going to win this game. The Steelers were lucky to beat the Jets the previous week as their kicker missed two potential game winning field goals. Rookie Ben Roethlisberger had an impressive rookie season going 13-0 as a starter, but had been playing poorly down the stretch. When the Patriots went up 24-3 I turned off the game and started watching DVDs. I knew then and there that the Patriots would (unfortunately) be champions again.
Same here. You just knew that the 2004 Steelers were "Fool's Gold" after their Divisional Playoff vs the Jets. The Jets Offense moved the ball up and down the field, and the 2 missed FGs the Jets had were just Heartbreakers. The Patriots Offense in this AFC Championship Game just copied what the Jets Offense did in the Divisional Round. The Patriots Offense was all-hands on deck though.
I sure would like to think so yet it just seems as if Bellicheats and Co. always had our number in playoffs. Still Pitt will forever be my team. No matter #1😅
Bill Cowher gets out coached....... AGAIN! He was overrated as a coach. The one SB he "won" was handed to him on a platter. Hard to lose a game when it's 15 vs 11
exactly especially that game vs the colts where they tried to choke game away with the 18 point lead they had. They should have lost to the colts but the colts had a bigger choke artist in their kicker.
@@rawnbadillo9886 that's a joke. He got out coached so many times! How many times did Bill Belichick smoke him in big games? How many times did he choke away big games? His 1 SB win is a joke. That was setup. Pull your head out of your butt, you'll be able to see better
@@TeddyKGB12 let me talk to ya...yea! A little LA Knight there. Anyways Cowher resurrected the Steelers in the early 90s and made them great again. He should have 3 Super Bowl titles. In '96 they should have beaten the heavily favored and heavily hated Cowgirls. O Donnel inexplicably and literally threw that game away. How did you like that surprise onside kick? The Steelers had all the momentum till that second interception thrown by O Donnell. I firmly believe if they had inserted rookie sensation Slash...aka Kordell Stewart at QB in that pivotal drive the Cowgirls wouldn't have known what hit them. He would have put fear on that Cowgirl defense with his scrambling ability....Deion or no Deion. And had Cowher not retire prematurely he would have a second Lombardi though Tomlin won it with Cowher's players. AND possibly even more Lombardies. Big Ben was entering his prime and that defense alone, led by Porter and later Harrison along with Polamalu could have led them to said Lombardies. So give Cowher some respect cuz he's earned it. And once again...the dude is in that hall of fame!
@@rawnbadillo9886 woulda, shoulda, coulda but didn't lol. If this, if that. If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. If ya smell what TeddyKGB is cookin'. A little Rock for you (since that's where LA Knight stole his gimmick from) The guy choked at home in 95 to San Diego, 98 to Denver, 01 and 04 to New England. All at home in the AFC Championship Game!!! And if it wasn't for the NFL'S obvious favoring, he'd of choked in the one SB he "won". Again I say.... OVERRATED!
Steelers handed this game away. 3 turnovers in the first half leading to 21 points for the patriots. Not to mention cowhers conservative play calling not going for it on the goaline and settling for field goals when you obviously needed TD’s.
get real casual@@jasonwardy8192. Pittsburgh shouldn't have even made it to the AFCCG after barely getting by the Jets thanks to Doug Brien missing FGs. New England was winning regardless.
The Steelers were going into this game way too shaky while the more experienced defending champion Patriots hit their second gear. Plus motivated by payback. They were simply better. Pittsburgh would get theirs the next season.
