I pulled the motor and it was incredibly easy. Some of my manifold bolts were broken as well as the Bendix drive so I needed to just pull it. I had the motor out on a bench in less than an hour. Now I can get to everything so simple. About the most inconvenient thing about pulling the motor is just having to cut all the zip ties on the electrical wires and then rezipping once installed but I'm amazed at just how easy it was to pull motor as opposed to trying to do it with motor in ski
problem ive had pulling motor has been breaking mount bolts! why i decided to try it in the ski. wasnt hard either way really. i have three of this model, have torn them all apart cpl times now lol have fun good luck thanks for watching and commenting!
@@crashman1963 I just had to bore out cylinders to 81mm and get new pistons and rings to match. Also deleted the oil injection and running premix now. Had it out on water a few times and seems to be okay. Except that plugs fouling more often..
i dont remember how far the chaser went in at firs thinking 1/2 or so, i used some weasel piss( pb blaster wd40 combo)on her, let her sit then some more, then i used electric heat gun( carefully a lot of gas very close!!!) then i used a small impact gun... she popped off. be careful goood luck! I have a kawasaki 750 x1. I believe it's a 97. Same motor as yours. My issue is the starter spins and my bendix dose as well but dose not engage the flywheel. I'm running just off the + & - of the starter so I can eliminate any other issue for the time begin. I'm pretty sure its my bendix not extending to engage. With that said 1. What are your thoughts and 2. The spark plug chaser u mentioned. Why did you use it. I'm a welder and a mechanic I have alot of background in fixing things lol but I've never heard of a spark plug chaser.
#1 probably your bendix yes. #2 spark plug chaser- what autozone calls a tap that is 'used' to cleanup plug hole threads, i never heard that term either but the tool worked, lol
itook out flywheel couldnt see another way as its between the case and flywheel. not a hard job even while in the ski. good luck! good time to have the flywheel turned down, gives ski a little more jump
crashman1963 my starter locked up on the water and I thought it was the oil pump that failed and the Moyer blew so glad it was the starter but now I’m a little mad cause I took everything off and took the block out to find it was the starter and my dad said we should replace the bendix too but I had no idea how to get it out thanks for the vid
