1994 Patti LuPone Sunset Boulevard With One Look Final Performance 

Can you hear how exciting this show was in that first incarnation? It was thrilling. Dangerous. She was magnificent.

Patti sounds great here, and maybe even a little more brash than her previous renditions. I imagine this is how Bette Midler would play Norma.

I was there. 6th row centre. We helped each other to stand on our chairs, cheering her to the rafters. It was a legendary night.

Uhg, such emotion!!! It’s Patti’s singing is so noice!

As with the recording of her final performance as Evita in New York, I get the impression she is rushing to get it finished and be out of it since it was such an unhappy time for her in both shows.
