I wish I had known about Australian football while Rex Hunt was still working. I found an old game on here where he happened to be doing play by play, and now I'm trying to find as many other games as i can. His call of the game makes it exciting even though I have no idea what's going on.

Thanks for uploading this with the 3AW commentary, was at this game sitting up in the top deck of the Great Southern Stand with about 12 mates all mad Tiger supporters. There's nothing like the roar of the Tiger army when you have a capacity crowd at the MCG. Eat em alive Tiges!!

I was at The Punt Road end, 1st level behind the goals/points. Awesome game and day, wish I could have been there this year for the final series but I live overseas now. Go you tiger boys and thanks for posting this game ( I have it on vhs 📼 old school😁)

Totally agree, that was a high point for us Richmond supporters amongst a long drought before and after this game. But even so, footy was a lot more exciting and supporters, players, coaches. Everyone was passionate about the game. Now days it doesn’t feel the same. It’s being ruined, by umpiring, rule changes. It’s so political and bland. Miss the glory days of afl.

What a great game & day all round..I was there-sporting a rotten hangover- with my son who was 7 at the time. (the night draw earlier that season was his first AFL game.) i still have a big piece of the 2nd semi run through banner rolled up in the cupboard. the letters 'L O O D' from the word 'bloody' on the top right corner. Tore the piece off out of the dumpster on the way out of the ground..GO TIGES!

I was at this game with a Bomber ate; as a starved Tiger supporter, boy was he into me at half time. He kinda "went quiet" after half time though. Did'nt have the heart to get into him after the final final but damn,what a game !!

Scotty Turner, absolute legend. Hard as nails. Two brutal hip and shoulder bumps on O'Donnell and Calthorpe. Plus a couple of telling goals when they were needed. 🐯

Lloyd listed as 186cm and 76kgs in this game. Met him at an International Rules game post season in either '01 or '02, can't recall exactly. I'm 183cm and I'm here to tell you he's an easy 190-194cm. Must've grown a lot in 7 years...

Attack is the best form of defence, reflecting after 28 year on the game ,sheedy panic when two of the players god injured players and was the one who lost the 1995 2nd Perler final with all his crazy move,playing hird in the backline was crazy, Symon was another crazy move,go long

Everyone bangs on about how Knights turned the game for Tigers. It was Mick Turner. Two key goals and two hits off the ball (ODonnell and Grenvold) which essentially wiped out the Bombers bench by late in the 3rd Q.

I used to take a recording Walkman to the games and record the radio commentary while at the game. Still have the tapes and was pleasantly surprised recently to hear they were still in good condition :)

Chris Naish and Scott turner both turned this game it was pure heart that got the tigers up and about Daffy the duck played a great game as did sticky Tape in the back line The best come back I've witnessed a in a low scoring game at half time we were half there score 30 to 60 with Brendon Gale to touches I've never seen Bredon gale play such a poor game because he was such a big part of the Richmond FC YELLOW & BLACK. We got flogged when we played the Prelim against Geelong who were a power house funny how two weeks can feel so different Scotty turner was on fire in this game however the next game he got smashed by Garry Albert who kicked multiple goals

I miss Rex hunt football commentating,he never took side, he just called it as he saw it ,unlike today's commentators on channel 7, they are so f******prophetic , the worst commentators on channel 7 is Brian Taylor Jobe Watson Luke Darcy , Brayshaw B

You're no doubt referring to the two set shots he missed early in the third quarter. They were costly misses!
