I have exactly the same issue with new shoes as you. I used to love trying on shoes and clothes in shops, but not now. I mostly wear trainers, which give some support, but do have some ankle boot with a zip. Lack of sensation on my left side makes trying on close fitting boots a real challenge. Never mind, it is better for the environment if I don’t keep buying stuff! I can do up laces one handed. It was a skill I learned about two months after the stroke. Like you, I find using my mouth to undo zips is useful. You are amazing and always look so fashionable. Well done. I am enjoying watching your videos.

J'sREPLY: Hi, thanks for viewing my Walk/Use escalator video. Shoes!!! - and clothes..! With my AFO/legbrace, I wore trainers for more than about 10 years after the stroke; before I progressed to dress/casual shoes which still have support and AFO - means that for celebrations I didn't have to wear trainers! Yes lack of feeling make finding shoes that fit a real challenge, but like you I try different ideas to counteract the situation. Thanks for your kind comments. All the best.
