Loved these repair videos, thank you so much bro! As someone who had a '93 Z28 for 5 years and let it get dirty and beatdown, this gave me faith with my well-kept new '96 Z28 💯 I didn't realize how simple some of these TLC repairs were.
_Great video and great job Jeff for certain. Amazed at how simple these parts can be changed out as opposed to C4 interior components. (I had an affinity for these fourth gen Camaros in 1996, henceforth I bought an almost new '96 Z28 in '96. The car was a 6 speed, t-tops, leather and fully loaded gem). Hard to believe the interior components haven't aged well at all._
Ive just been given a 95 Z-28 with 81,000 miles. Cammed, ported heads, 11.5 to 1 compression and nitrous. He blew a head gasket 4 or 5 years back, was about to put cometic head gaskets on it, but ran up on a deal on a 72 Lemans. He started restoring it and lost interest in the Camaro. He knew ive been wanting a quick car for years. Since i became disabled, the dreams of ever owning one were gone. So he said he wanted me to have it. Hopefully i get to go pick it up one day this week. Im still in shock that he is giving it to me. He had it dyno's and it made 421 to the wheels on all motor. He took it to the local drag strip, and on nitrous, he clocked a 7:40 in the 1/8th mile. Only thing wrong with it is the head gasket, and the paint is shot. Interior is black with leather seats and its mint.
Yay! More Camaro content I also have the dreaded broken console lid. Problem with mine is on the console the plastic latch where the rod goes through is broken. 😡 So I basically need a new console
I like what you did with the steering wheel, lve heard stories about the airbags. I drained my power steering fluid by draining it on the rack n piñon unit, it worked great
Hey it's me from your first Camaro video I found two hours ago, well I proceeded to watch the whole series. Loving the content and I just subbed, keep up the good work and I can't wait to see what you do next with the Catfish.
Hello. The panels on my are bulging out also. I want to adjust that this week. I will check for some vid`s on how to do that. I just installed a Maddog built tranny. I have a Moser GM 12-bolt I will installing asap. Then I am pulling the heads to replace the head gaskets before they fail. It just turned 100,000 mi on it last week. I can inspect the cam, etc. Thank you.
2:46 if you don't like the camaro shifter you can get a firebird one to replace it and have a T-Handle type instead. I never liked the chevy version, my Z has a firebird one.
Hey I can tell from your Camaro console selector it came with 2.73 rear gears and the 1st gear lockout on the shift console. You can easily remove it and put a console piece from one that allows you to manually select down to 1st gear. GM did it for some stupid reason, can't remember why...on the optioned 3.23 geared cars you could select all four. Change the rear gears out, the car will be much quicker.
GM nstalled 2.73 gears, 110 mph speedometer, & blocked the shifter from going into 1st gear on cars that didn't have z rated tires from the factory.. Some z28 convertibles also
Good Video 👍 I have question! I have alarm on my car but i dont have a remote controll to my car! Mine is a V6 1993 but i dont dont if only v8 have a remote controll to the alarm?
Great video and nice upgrades. My only suggestion is if your console is in bad shape to upgrade to a newer 97 to 02 console that actually has usable cup holders lol.
The only way to fix the horn for real is to replace the broken piece. It's dirt cheap but you have to pull that retaining pin and lift off the clock spring.
Is it… different designs last longer? Or… different material? If the center console lid was made of metal around the hinge & latch… it'd still be good!
3:38 I see you have the selector that doesn't show "1" or 1st gear. while you have it apart shift it into 2nd and you'll see a plastic block blocking you from shifting further. cut off that block and you'll be able to shift into manual 1st, even though the selector wont show it. when you see it you'll understand. its obvious.
GM blocked out 1st gear on auto cars in that era to meet sound loudness govt specs. The car will shift into 1st and function like normal. they just put a block in there to stop you from doing it from the factory to pass sound level requirements.
Happy man in his happy car making all his accesories happy happy as in functional. I can't stand the center console rather change it to a difrent style entirely
The lack of a low range/first gear position seemed kind of weird to me. Apparently it was locked out due to some strange federal noise requirement and you can simply cut off a plastic stop to allow the shifter to move down to 1st. ls1tech.com/forums/automatic-transmission/550163-secret-1st-gear-4l60e-any-damage-caused.html
