A late friend of mine had a '90 Springer Softail that he'd had Samson Legends (Long Shots) installed onto, without baffles and with torque cones, and that bike rumbled like no other I've ever ridden, it sounded like a true hot rod. I've had 2 Harley's since then, the first was an '06 Dyna Wide Glide (Twin Cam) which had almost the same type of exhaust(not sure what the name brand was, the only identifier was a V stamped into the pipes) which I removed the baffles out of but no torque cones and it sounded good but it didn't rumble quite like the Softail did. Currently I own an '05 Dyna Wide Glide (Twin Cam) with Vance&Hines Longshots without baffles or torque cones and they sound better than the '06 Dyna but they still don't have the low frequency rumble that the Softail had. The only thing I can think of that it probably is is the Softail was carbureted and my two were fuel injected. I think when you let off of the throttle on a fuel injected Harley the computer doesn't let the rpm's drop as suddenly as they do on a carbureted model, not sure but that's what I think. Anyway, that Softail was something else.
Man i just bought a 94 soft tail custom with 10k miles original from my buddy who's had it since new ... I want those pipes ! Damn I'm excited screw the new bikes .
I went to Colorado February of this year and bought a 95 Fat Boy, exact same paint scheme and it had 840 miles on it. I been riding the heck out of it. I have put 1000 miles on it in 5 months, and yes we had some snow too.
Nice bike, good video!. I've been running fishtails on all my Harley's since around 1990. Currently going from Samson Fishtail slip ons to fishtail straight pipes, waiting for them to come in - excited. Fishtails forever. Ride safe.
Just found this video, nice ride. You've probably already had your seat done, but I can see an embossed brown leather and bib with crossed lacing going with that color.
Good looking bike. I saw bike same color in O.C. bike week color caught my eye. I have a 2007 Deluxe Cholo out. Bought a 94 Heritage 2 years ago cholo it out 2.
