Thank you, it needs a ton of work but these cars are getting harder and harder to find so I couldn’t pass it up 😅

Indeed I'm sure it will be all worth it 😉

Here in Georgia we get on average one EF every three months listed on the junkyard. I own a 88 hatch so I almost always head out there and source as much as I can. No rust on them at all. I love your videos and I’m a new subscriber.

That’s actually not bad, we barely see any in the junkyards here up north. And when you find one it’s usually stripped already😂thank you for the kind words I really appreciate that 👍

That rust is miles better than my CRX.. but, it'll be a hell of a lot of work anyway. I would say it's still better to make a trip to Nevada and pickup a non rusty shell. Unless you really love crawling in dust with 11000 rph wheel of death whrowing sparks in your face and getting showered with molten metal and breathing poisonous fumes... you know, fun stuff. If you decide to still go in, here's one pro tip - grinder sparks destroy glass up to really unexpected range. Make sure to mask or remove it all before you start cutting, or it gets irrepairably ruined. Welding spatter is even worse. I learned the hard way. Also cover all cars parked nearby, it really flies far. And if you do this, build yourself a rotisserie. You have a good space for it. Even just some primitive support jig that would allow you to lay it on the side. I wish I done that on mine, it would have been 100% worth it. Best of luck, I'll be following with excitement!

Thank you so much for your feedback I have thought about just parting everything out and getting rid of the shell it would make sense and save me a ton of work. I’m still undecided at the moment. You’re 100% right about the glass, thank you for the reminder. I wish these cars weren’t so expensive right now, I will hold onto this one until I firmly make a decision on what I will do. The rotisserie is such a useful tool when undergoing bodywork like this, as always I appreciate your imput and look forward to more of your restoration videos, thank you Sidney 👍

@@Tycrx89 hah, yeah, I keep forgetting these only go up in value. But I can see why - I recently drove a modern economy car, and it was great, does everything better.. but there's no feel to it, all very light and detached. And I don't see the trend changing, because let's face it, everyday commuting in traffic is more of a chore than joy and it will only get worse. So maybe worth holding onto the EG, because there will be nothing like that in the future. I think in 50 years, the EG civic will be something like the Classic Mini is today.. still pretty common, but very desirable.

@@sidney9534 wow that’s something to really think about. I know what you mean with that “detached” feel. I currently use my 90 b16a hatch as a daily to work and back everyday day mon-fri. When I drive anything else it just doesn’t have the same feel to it. The control. It is deff tough commuting in the hatch everyday but I’m trying to make it as accommodating as possible, hopefully soon with this hasport a/c bracket For b swaps I will have working air conditioning soon. You make a great point about all this, prob might be worth holding onto for now. I saw a 80 crx si sell for 33,000 on Bring a trailer, never thought I’d ever see a crx resell for that much.

Cats are ruthless inspectors, mine got failed on rust as well. I tried disputing it but only got bitten and scratched.

As I'm sitting at a smog test for my 1992 EG now I was trying to think if I would trade California strict emissions laws for used cars that are subject to rusty conditions like where you live (NY right?) Not sure I would. I have some rust on my CRX that needs repaired and it terrifies me. Can't wait till you show me how it's done! I'm following this one.

I know what you mean, I’m a New York native but currently live in Pa now which is basically the same weather lol. Unfort the rust belt here takes no mercy on these older cars here. I guess it evens out with the less restrictive emission’s laws. I got my work cut out ahead of me for this one. My sister lives in Channler AZ and she tells me all the time just buy your cars out here it’ll save you much time and work, but I continue to learn the hard way 😂
