I got the same radio for the same car works great. The old Toyota radio the driver side speaker was sounding awful thought that it was blown not the case.. Then got a buzzing noise on a station. The radio is trashed..
@@paisaco Yes- great unit and still working very well with my Apple phone. Bluetooth is tricky- want to take over all of the time. Just unpair and use wired connection.
yo ik this was 2 years ago, but were there any issues you came across? I've got a 1994 (pretty much the same car but a little cuter looking than the 95 LOL) and I really need a radio replacement, logic deck broken af :/
I connected everything but now the stereo isn't turning on I tested it with the old one and same thing, I can't tell if its one of the wires or not. Just before i changed everything it was working good on the old one.
YES, when it comes to replacing a stock radio with an after market, your always going find yourself connecting wires. Once you select the radio you want to install, you can buy an after market plug specially made for your vehicle. Thus making it easier to plug into the factory wiring and not strip them. Like you saw in the video, I wired the after market plug to the radio and then connected that same plug to cars factory wire plug. All after market plug wires are color coded to match the new radio. It never fails! Any doubt just let me know ok. Thanks for asking!
Hey, look at the back of the radio unit your installing. You will see a round hole, thats where the antenna wire needs to be plugged into. All aftermarket units have it.
Hey Alex, well, the factory harness is made to connect directly to its factory radio only. If your installing a Pioneer, there is a custom harness available that connects the Pioneer to the factory harness without having to deal with the color coded wiring. Just plug and play. Now if your installing a radio that doesn't make any custom harness for your car, then your only option is to buy the harness at amazon or ebay which ever is cheaper. It might look intimidating but its not. You buy the harness adapter, connect all the wires as color indicates it. Tape them up individually to make sure they don't make contact with one another then connect factory harness plug to the new harness and everything should work. Hope this helps. If any doubts let me know.
so, idk if you’d know. mine has the anti-theft system. if I remove it, and swap it, and want to swap back, will it still work? I have a sticker on my window that says that it won’t work if taken out.
Hey Evan, Good question. Your answer is YES. You can swap to an aftermarket radio and swap it back with the stock radio just as long as it's the original radio that came with your Camry. The sticker implies that the radio will not work if removed and used in another car and vise versa. That only applies to the stock radio. Hope this helped!
The stereo I bought doesn’t fit in that cage thing, it’s not long enough and doesn’t have screw holders. It’s a dual xd17mbt. Do I have to buy a different stereo? I can’t find an installation kit for this car either. I kinda forcefully made it fit but then the last panel doesn’t fit nicely. I’d appreciate any help
What brand stereo unit are you trying to install? Brand and model number would help. Also, You need the brackets from the original radio or aftermarket brackets which are plastic.
It’s called Dual and model number is xd17mbt. I’m trying to use the original brackets but it doesn’t seem to work. The unit is pretty short and has no place for screws. I tried getting a plastic dash kit for Toyota but it doesn’t work with this Camry. It’s kinda annoying. Thanks for the help
I believe your referring to the Dual Electronics XDM17BT . If so, yes its short but to install that one you need the original cage that comes with that radio. If you don't have the original cage then your gonna have to be tool savvy. Without the cage I do see that it does not have any screw hole but you may be able to drill your own. The cage is what makes it easier in your case.
eramirez jr yep that’s the one! The only cage it comes with is just like a sleeve, that too without any holes for screws. And I tried to somehow fit it but then the head unit itself seems to be too wide for the dash, here’s a photo of what it looks like. imgur.com/gallery/sNDNFgo
@@AhsenJabbar In that picture I do see that its the radios bezel is too wide. All aftermarket radios bezel are wider than the radio its self. Is the bezel removable? You might have to use the radio with out the bezel. In the installation I did, I left the bezel out of the equation. I suggest you do the same.
The only wires I connected was the after market plug to the aftermarket radio. The rest is plug and play and reassembly. To my surprise, the power radio antenna worked fine.
Alright thanks, wasnt sure how the antenna worked in this car, I once had a 97 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight with a power antenna and I had to do all types of wiring crap to get the antenna to work so i said screw it and just stuck the antenna up manually and disconnected the motor, glad to see the camry wont be the same way.
Hey Orlando, NO! The blue wire on the after market harness can be used for the power antenna if the car has one. The blue/white wire is meant for a after market amp and that's if your gonna use one. If not, just tape the ends to make sure they don't ground them self's. Those 2-wires provide a 5 volt (+) signal to accessories you may have and want to add. Hope this helps and stay safe!
Hey, did you install an aftermarket wiring harness? Being that their color coded, get any speaker and connect it to a set of the color coded speaker wires on the harness. You should have sound. I don't think that those Camry's came with a stock amp. Also check your antenna wire, make sure its inserted into the radio. Check the rear speakers, make sure their connected. I did run into that with a resent install and connected the antenna wire and it came to life being that I was trying the radio channels. If anything try to do a bench test on the radio before installing. This way your 100% sure the radio works.
Hey William Rowe, this is simple if you are installing an aftermarket unit. All aftermarket unit come with there own harness which is color coded. For this install you will also need the wire harness that connects your radio unit to the factory harness, which is also color coded to match the aftermarket.unit wiring . So match and connect the wires, Green,Purple,Grey and white are for speakers. Blue/Black, Blue are for power options like power antenna or an amp. Yellow, Red and Black are the wires that power on the radio unit so be careful with those wires. I never do Frankenstein setups where I connect the aftermarket radio directly to the factory wiring. Thats a NO NO! Head unit and the Scosche TA02B wiring harness will make it easy. Hope this helps!
Hey I'm installing in a 94 Camry and there's a floating blue wire that runs down toward under the steering wheel. Amy idea what that is? Is it supposed to be connected to the harness? I also have a blue wire on the harness with nothing to connect to on the stereo's connector, unless it's supposed to connect to the blue/white one?
Hey, sorry for not getting to you quick enough. Now, the Blue/White wire is meant for power accessories, power antenna,. If your model has a power antenna, than that wire provides signal to your antenna. Make sure its connected to your harness if it does have that feature. The solid Blue wire if i'm correct is part of the speaker wires. First install your after market harness then power on and test the speaker and antenna. Once the harness wiring is done, everything should work. If you need more help, fell free to ask and stay safe.
Well, you can get that harness if you don't want to snip and connect wiring. Make sure that it's really compatible with a pioneer head unit, if that's what yours installing.
Its a Kenwood KMM-BT522HD and it does not play CD's. You have to use a Flash Drive with this model. A 32Gb was chosen and installed with a lot music. When I was using it, I had a 64Gb and it had close to 5k songs and it was half empty. Thanks for asking!
Yes, It will fit nicely. Just remember that you will no longer be able to use the plastic pocket that's underneath the radio also make sure your rear speakers are in good shape for the upgrade ok.
@@eramirezjr5461 Oh i see , the system you have in your 95 cam is slightly different in my XLE V6. it has casssete and CD player, no smaller black door. thanks for your help buddie!!
Hey good question. You can fit a double din, but you have to use the stock brackets. I don't think they made double din kits for that model and year due to limited space. That's why is best to use the stock brackets with this Camry. I just hope you still have the brackets, you will need them.
