Oh I have done this to ALL my current and former 1994-1996 Roadmasters and Fleetwoods. You are absolutely correct. I have a bag full of those rollers.

Unlike the sedans, these wagons had a fully boxed frame. Heck it is almost like a 1/2 pickup underneath.

One of the main reasons I did (but there are many) is because my love of cars. In WI everything gets rusted out. The downside to AZ is all the rubber, plastic, cloth and leather dries up like a Mummy's vagina.

The wagons were featured in Hagerty magazine about 3 years ago to be a car expected to go up in value. They have since then, I personally prefer the sedans. In fact the one I sold to my son-in-law is my first choice. A 1994 Roadmaster Limited Sedan with the V92 towing package. I currently have a 1994 Limited Sedan without the towing package which is my daily driver. I was my late father's. I LOVE that car. And I have a 1995 Roadmaster base Sedan with the towing package and only 38,000 miles.

Too bad they discontinued it so soon. Had it gone on to the LT1 years, I would love to own one. They were attractive wagons.

But all said and done, I will opt for the LT-1 over the better door panels and instrument panel.

Yeah it is best to open the rear hatch while riding in it or you may get splash back from getting car sick.

Yes. But they also get in the way of some repairs. And they are noisy.

1/4 mile in 14.9 is very possible with a stock 1994-96 Roadmaster sedan with the V92 option having 2:93 rear gear. But a 6.6s 0-60 would take some modifications to achieve. Stock is closer to 8s. But these LT-1 engines are receptive to performance mods. And those interested in racing them do put in 3:42 or more rear gears. Basically these can perform about as well as their 1994-96 Chevy Impala cousin or Caprice with the police 9C1 police package, which can do 0-60 in about 7s which typically have 3:08 gears. In short, put 3:42 gears in a 1994-96 Roadmaster and you will probably see those performance figures you mention.

Please elaborate. Do you mean the aesthetics? I personally hate the door panels, and interior in general. But the seats are very comfortable.

@@RustyZipper Yes, Curious Cars is hilarious. I like to pay subtle tribute to a few of the great youtubers who have car channels. Vise Grip Garage, One Owner Car Guy, Saabkyle04, Specialty Motor Cars, Rare Classic Cars and such, even though I am WAY outclassed by any one of them.
