He only stalled it because of the cam. If anybody here has ever driven a cammed car, you'd know it's harder to take off and maintain a slower speed. No hate people lol,
Not with the hotcam, especially the LT4 that thing is baby. Sticking it in a 383 makes it even worse because it's the wrong came for that sized motor. He should have a much bigger cam in there. He's leaving a lot of power on the table with that baby cam that was meant to be stuck in a 350. A buddy of mine had stroked his to a 383 with mild heads and LT4 cam. That thing sounded nice but it wasn't much better than stock. The hotcam is too small for a 383 I kept telling him. The power band on that thing doesn't optimize the engines potential at all. Hotcam is best for stock engines if you got hardass emissions to deal with. that, some mild head work, 1.6rr's and you should see some decent results but something like the CC306 would be right at home in that engine block.
I kinda like the sleek look. Not really traditional muscle-car looks, but more of a European exotic look with just a raw, unrefined driving experience. love the sound.
You know people always ask about hotcams because they are the go to mod for the LT1. I just want to say to all those new to the game the Hotcam is just a baby cam and there's better cams out there. The real reason why so many guys have hotcams is because it was the only kit that came with everything you needed to do the swap from GM. Known as the Infamous LT4 hot cam kit and it's a pretty good bargain but the hot cam itself is just a little beyond the stock cam.
Lyrically Dapper he has longtube headers idk what type of pipe he's running but im guessing its a Y pipe because he also has an slp lm1 exhaust, X pipe sounds better so that's basically it for the exhaust setup, the heads and stroker do change the sound a bit and makes it sound meaner and louder
LOve the video... sounds bad asss!! im not sure how much HP mines puts out.. 383 stroker Lt4 Hot cam bigger throttle body, edelbrock lt1 intake, edelbrock headers, 3 angled valve job, 1.6 ratio comp cam roller rocker arms, k&N... supposedly the long block with stock parts gave out 375 hp.. i just hope im in the 420's or so... again, awesome sounding car bro
@WreckZ28 Nice numbers man. I forgot to look but I've noticed you had ported heads also. That's why you have over 350 HP. Not hating on your ride at all. It's nice. Just letting Wankachocho know that a cam is one of the top things that provides horsepower. No way with a hotcam and and non-ported heads could you reach what you have so far. If you put a bigger cam in it you'd easily be seeing 400+ HP. Good luck on your ride. I'll be putting together a 383 stroker next summer.
I had the same exhaust until I got pissed off when I was wiping the car down after washing it and then when I was cleaning those same exhaust tips, the fucking edge cut my finger badly. 4 days later I swapped in the Corsa exhaust system with there twin dual tips that are way smoother. Didn't notice any gains or loss in power between the 2 exhaust systems.
The best thing about having a car like this is having other people that like it to that come up to you for some gear head talk. Neighbors? That's not our intention to piss them off with loud man toys.. Rather them hear it and say "Damn man i can hear you from the other culdesac starting you car what do you got in that beast!?!? Can you take me for a ride!?!?" That's what id rather hear nobody wants to hear cop radios on there front porch.
Badass Z...but where's the part of the video where the landlord puts a eviction notice on his door for pissing the neighbors off and speeding in the parking lot....
How much power are you making? I'm buying a LT4 from a 1996 corvette and rebuilding it to a 383 but I'm gonna use the production LT4 cam but with Jesel 1.7 shaft rockers. Golen Racing Engines gave me a conservative horsepower and torque rating around 450 with the stock LT4 cam. Just wondering if that is around what your making.
383 with an LT4 is a waste the cam will really make that engine feel underpowered. Also 1.7's aren't a good idea either. biggest you should go is 1.6 and get a nice beefy cam in there. If you're worried about street manners get a 230/236 it's a mid range cam suitable for 383 but not radical like a cc306.
Who was that laughing your sister? Haha. Very nice car.. I'm thinking of buying a 94 six speed. The person is asking $2400. I think it needs a paint job, but he describes it as runs good needs tlc.. I like your engine set up.
this video is old do you still have the car? i have a 1996 camaro Z28 LT1 its mostly stock but still fun. you car sounds wicked. i hope you still have it
I know this comment is a few years old, but do you still have your 1996 Camaro Z28? If so how was maintaining it and making sure to keep as much as possible running? What was your experience with it like for the time you have it so far?
