Very clean for a soon-to-be 20 year old car. And with only 52,000 miles too. True that these were quite the popular rides "back in the day" as they say. This 96 redesign was pretty well received by the media overall too.

I always though the Taurus from 1996-1999 looked too bubbly and modern... my dad's 2001 Ford F-550 work truck has the same key, and Ford still uses that exact key. But all in all it's a nice car!

The Taurus did not compete against the Corsica or Malibu. It competed against the Lumina/Impala.
@BryanWJanak
@BryanWJanak 9 лет назад
No, it competed against the Lumina, Camry, and Accord. The Impala in the 90's was the suped up version of the Caprice, a large car that competed against the Crown Victoria. That aside, I love this Taurus as well, even to this day it is probably my favorite styled Taurus though many did not like it.
@zackisawesome11
@zackisawesome11 9 лет назад
+Bobby Brady No sir. The Impala was reintroduced in 1996 as the suped up version of the caprice. The caprice was still being produced along side the Impala. And it was a competitor for the Ford crown vic/marquis/towncar.

@@RB01.10 The trans started acting up at 100.000 miles. By 110.000 it was fried. That was in 2008. I consider that low miles because my Dodge has 243.000 on its original transmission. It shifts silky smooth. It was jerking for awhile but it always shifted. I turned the ac on and it fried on the highway.
