We followed up with Steve's 1997 F250 Ford 7.3 L turbo diesel.
We optimized his F-250 by changing the transmission fluid to AMSOIL ATF Signature Series 100% synthetic.
Steve went from 350 miles per full tank to 400 miles per full tank. That's about 12.5% better miles per gallon after doing the motor oil change and AMSOIL cetane diesel lubricant and cleaner.

did you drain the torque converter?

We didn't if he wanted to do a fly she could but he was happy just doing a pan drop and changing the filter. Also if he wanted to he could also a drain and fill the pan again and he would drain about 80% of the old fluid if he did another pan fluid drain and fill which I've done on many vehicles and it makes a huge difference in the shifting.

Sweet, that sounds right. Yeah the air slowly oxidizes the lubricants and by it being opened it has a higher oxidizing rate. That sounds like a conservative safe estimate I think with the signature series you could go well beyond that but I believe just like with their warranty one year 25,000 miles like you can go longer it's just a nice conservative Baseline estimate👍 Thank you for sharing that with me and sharing that with the channel.
