I'm stoked you started this channel! I have been keeping up with your products for a few years now and will be ordering a HD steering kit soon, also based on this video I may need to get the double din dash pad aswell. Would love to see a video series on the TDI swap for the audi and fabrication and install of your other products and R&D. Keep it up man!
Thank you! I seriously love the dash pad and having a double din, it makes it feel like a brand new truck. The Audi TDI swap may happen, but not in my urS6 anymore. Possibly in my wifes B6 avant though. Thanks for the kind words!
Hey john, I just installed the your steering components on my 97 f350 last week, been driving the truck daily, loving the steering, way better than stock. Thanks for your help. I’ll be in touch on getting the suspension next.
Has to be the cleanest built OBS I have ever seen. Also, those projectors are just....perfection. Edit: get some clear vinyl on those lenses man, they not only protect against rock chips but seem to do well at blocking oxidation as well. Love your triple threat by the way 😉 Give him lots of loves from a dog lover.
Thanks for the kind words! I actually sold this truck a while back but the current owner is taking good care of it. The three wheeler is great and his name is Trey. He gets lots loves!
@@carrickcustoms9504 All projects must leave us at some point. Thanks for the shout back man. Y'all take care, I'm subbed to see what else y'all are about
Love your obs! Getting one myself that is very clean and am very interested in doing the cummins swap! Hope you continue to make videos as I just subscribed!! 🤘
Nice truck I certainly would like to have a 4 door Ford 4x4 . Even though Ford has better brakes than my 95 Dodge 4x4 which I going to fix when I went to a hydroboost it was a lot better that it ever was even with the one ton chev wheel cylinders in the rear . You may have great brakes but a hydroboost certainly makes a difference from my experiences . The Ford is just a great truck especially since you went with the coil over front axle. The 215 pump is a good choice as it adds a bit of timing at higher rpms compared to my 160 hp pump set at 18 degrees. Nice build 👌
wow you have really put some thought into it. I'm on the fence of buying my parents 97 f250. I have a dana 80 and a ford king pin front to swap in and a spare cummins to put into it. After seeing this I think I will pull the trigger. I love the front suspension!!
I also would be interested in a trans overview. How you get everything to bolt up and what is the best and strongest transmission. Keep up the good work!
Love the truck you guy's are real guru's. Just wandering if you sell that air conditioning compressor mount? I've got a 97 F450 that I'm putting a 12v Cummins in and it only makes sense to put the compressor in the original location
How much overall boost does your setup make? Would love to see a driving video. Running through the gears and hard acceleration. Love the 2 tone obs trucks
When you swapped the 12 valve into your truck did you have much issues with electrical,I’ve got a 460 in my 96 F350 and been thinking about swapping a 12 valve into it
I took the stock hard lines and figured out how much of them I wanted to use and then I figured out how long I needed the soft lines to be. I took the stock hard lines and new trans cooler down to my local hydraulics shop, they cut the hard lines down to my mark, built new soft lines with the correct fittings for the trans cooler and connected them to the original hard lines. Does that make sense?
How do you like the 3.55 gears? How tall is your tire? Do you prefer the 3.55 gears or would you prefer 4.10 gears (35" tall tire)? -My truck doesn't pull as much as it carries firewood...f350 crew cab with 8' bed, however nice low RPMs at highway speed would be great! What are your RPMs at 65mph? 75mph?
I really like 3.55's with 35" tires. You can cruise at 80mph at around 2000rpm's. Check out some gear ratio calculators for figuring out rpm's at different speeds.
I have a cummins and dodge cab getting swapped with a 650 zf6 Can I just buy the entire slave cylinder and master cylinder kit for the ZF6? How hard would it be to mount the master cylinder to the dodge clutch pedal assembly? So i dont have to mix and match dodge ans ford master and slave cylinders. I need an updraged line too it has a 650hp clutch in it.
Yes, you should be able to mount the ZF6 slave cylinder in the dodge. I cant say how hard it will be because we have not done that before, but it shouldn't be too bad. You probably don't need an upgraded hydraulic line for that clutch. The clutch in the truck in this video is rated for around 550hp and is using the stock hydraulic line.
This truck has a 2nd gen Dodge Cummins intercooler but I would not recommend that route because of how wide they are. My preferred intercooler is a 99-03 7.3 Super Duty intercooler but you need a diesel radiator for those because the gas radiator is too wide for the intercooler to fit around.
Basically the same milage I was getting with the ZF5. Its hard to give good milage numbers on it anymore because I really only drive it when I'm towing something, but it gets anywhere from 15-20mpg.
They are made by Tony Rojo. I dont have contact info for him, but you can find him Facebook. No problems with blinding oncoming traffic. They work amazing!
Army of One36 if you did a good job on the swap of course it can be a great daily. Especially if everything is rebuilt and fresh. Those cummins are power houses and have great power, great fuel economy too. 12 valve can get up into the 30s mpg if it’s on the right setup and right fuel tuning.
It all depends. If you can do all the work yourself, probably in around $30k. This truck may be going up for sale soon to help pay for a new build we are starting and it will be listed for around $28k.
@@carrickcustoms9504 How about just a kit to add one in front of my wide ratio zf5? I don't want an auto, id like to keep all my existing running gear. Thanks for the response, its rare out here. Nice work. Id like to see your coil over for the ttb. I went to rsk w obs springs and dual shocks set up from sky's w x rated obs springs. I run the old school super runner steering on it and I love it. It rides, handles so good. The TTB isnt as bad as everyone makes them out to be the use blown out ball joints, bad steering, incorrect camber nuts... I have an upgraded pivot drop brace I designed to add into the rough country adj. brackets. Wanted to be at no bs but had commitments. Nice work man. The TTB needs to be brought back to its rightful place on the 250s. Its a Ford 9" w high spline count. Its a great unit if built right.
That’s awesome about your manufacturing the coil conversion kit. I hope you never manufacture in China! That’s the worst thing anyone could do. Made in the USA
