1997 North Hollywood Shootout Police Cars 

They are in a museum

This is the Los Angeles Police Museum in Highland Park, CA. To be honest, the North Hollywood shootout is the kind of gun battle typically seen in a war zone. If you think that an L.A.P.D officer who got shot in the head but survived is mind-boggling; try this food for thought: Martin Whitfield was the most severely injured officer in the shootout but by some sheer miracle he survived despite being shot in the leg and in the chest. He is now a restaurant owner in his hometown of Indianapolis, IN. I wish only the best of luck for Mr. Whitfield and his family. Another truly brave officer by the name of James Zboravan was able to maintain his courage and bravery despite the gunfire raining down on him and his being surrounded by a kind of Hell that would only be seen in the movies. If he decided to write a book about what he experienced in the shootout and what life has been like for him despite the constant back pain from two herniated discs in his spine; I would buy a copy of the book and I even have a great title: "Courage Under Fire: My Story of Bravery and Determination to Stop the North Hollywood Shootout." James Zboravan eventually managed to successfully rise through the ranks to achieve the rank of Sergeant and has been good friends with Dr. Jorge Montez; a dentist whose office was across the street from the bank and treated James as well as his colleague Detective John Kreulac.

The police also receive the same training and that's why he survived his life threatening wounds. The only way a person stands a chance at surviving a gunshot wound or wounds. Is knowing what too do and having the mental ability to be still, calm yourself down, noy letting adrenaline take over, and too start controlling your breathing. What you gain in return by doing that. Is your heart rate will begin to slow down. Meaning your not pumping out massive amounts of blood and you reducing your chances of passing out. Almost all people who succumb to gunshot wounds. Is from blood lose because they fail to be still, calm and they let there adrenaline take over. When a person passes there no longer in control there breathing, there body, and there heart rate. That's the main reason why paramedics are so big on keeping a person conscious.

It’s become such an iconic shootout. The Re-enactment itself looks like an action movie

The suspect car was the one that took most of the gunfire as it was use as a human shield throughout the shootout also, the criminal had much time to escaped but instead 1 dumbo walk and they stay at the bank for about 10-20 minute before leaving where the last part of the shootout take place.

maccollectorZ (Commenting Account) police shot the tires, they wouldn't be able to stop them so they popped the tires, and I think all the cars in the shootout was not driven there.

Cool man I found it!! Right off York street. I also went to the BFA off Laurel Canyon and I also drove down Archwood all in the same day. I made my own video of this place. What an interesting day.

When I watched a documentary on it the reason one of the suspects tried to steal another car was because their original white getaway car tires were shot out. So for the display at this museum these arnt the orginal tires.
