Igli Tare, Rudi Vata. What more could we have wanted from our national soccer team? Oh yes a tougher defence for sure. We were a fearsome force back then. Under a hypothetical management of an expensive Italian coach, that particular Albanian formation of that time would be a serious threat to any big team, Brasil, Italy, everyone. Not today, but back then yes.

Match in the 90th minute was 3-3 that night. I remember they left about 15 minutes extra time so the German team would do the goal that would let them go in France 98 World Cup. Please show some respect for the Albanian spirit. I respect the great German team anyways. And many like me in my country. Danke!

@olehomer1988 actually added time was not typical in 1997, but the goal is to be blamed on the goalkeeper. I still cannot believe how Foto Strakosha was the starter instead of Beqaj those days. "Non mi ricordo parate di Strakosha" dad version.
