I was on holiday in Bulgaria (nessebar) at the age of 9 on this day in 1995. I vividly remember the locals creating a party atmosphere that night similar to a nation that had just won the World Cup. Really nice memories.

One of the greatest teams ever played. Each of the Bulgarian players was God in his position. No one could do anything against them. Today, only Croatia is approaching this class. It's a pity that the story is over with them too. Those were good times.

Бях на този мач, преживяването беше уникално. Валя дъжд през целия мач. На полувремето при 0-2 бяхме се отчаяли много по трибуните, целите подгизнали до кости... Но, Пеневата Чета не се беше отчаяла и сътвори нещо Велико! Какви играчи имахме само.... Всички играеха в големи европейски клубове, бяха лидери в отборите си. Незабравими спомени... Не знам какво толкова се случи че вече не можем да имаме такива сърцати лъвове.... Последните ни класни футболисти бяха Бербатов, Мартин Петров и Стелиян Петров. На днешните им дай прически, татуировки, коли, жени, чалготеки и социални мрежи - засилена активност на всички фронтове..... А на футболния терен ги няма никакви, завалиите... I was about to turn 10 the next day so i celebrated by doing great manufactures.

Ninety minutes of blood and thunder under heavy Sofia skies. The gods opened the floodgates and it rained all day and night along, almost like in the Old Testament. The game itself was absolutely epic with non stop action and accidents everywhere on the pitch. The late great Trifon took a hefty knock early on but stayed and fought till the end like the warrior he was. Goalkeeper Mikhailov was struck by Kilnsmann's volley from point blank range with about ten minutes to go but also refused to gave up and to be substituted. We might even have had our subs already used at that time. Kostadinov was surely a sub that day but got the winner. We just deserved to edge it but it was a very, very close affair. Final minutes were almost unbearable with torrential rain falling down and the Germans relentlessly pushing for a late equalizer. We stood our ground and prevailed in the end and it all was like a fairy tale from a magical proto-Bulgarian mythology.
