Finally a decent race from the golden era of Indycar racing and they mess it up.....a bit. Nothing beats the glory of CART cars on a fast, hard road course of Road America. Add in rain and....*chefs kiss* If I had a time machine, THIS would be the fabled, famous American 500 mile race, not some 4 turn runaround in indianapolis :-p
I was there at that race. I'd flown into Cleveland (staying with a F1 buddy there) from the UK the previous week and went to see the CART race at Mid Ohio (watching the Hungarian F1 GP on the Sunday morning where Damon Hill almost won the race in an Arrows with Bridgestone tyres). The weekend after I'd flown back to the UK on the Monday and on the Wednesday drove to Spa-Francorchamps for the F1 race there. I had a lazy Thursday not able to do very much. It was a fairly intense three weeks - staying in a tent for Road America and Spa-Francorchamps. The weather at Road America was really bad. We were listening to the race officials on my radio scanner and could hear that there was a break in the weather quite late in the day - we had thought it may have been run on the Monday at one stage (as the officials were talking about that) which would have messed up my travel plans as I had a flight back to the UK form Cleveland around 13:00. We watched the race from under the trees at the Carousel. We had walked around the track on the Saturday so had been able to see quite a bit before that.
@@cdname47 Thanks, it was a great three weeks but I needed a holiday afterwards! The Tuesday was spent washing clothes and packing my car for the trip leaving around 6am for the 2 hour trip to Dover and the ferry.
Late race 1:25 - ish Marty Reid had to interject and pretend he knew what was going on and that he knew what he was doing. #ClassicMarty Glad he is gone.
How would you expect someone to remove voices from a recording? it only lasts a couple of minutes. Could you have maybe used some common sense before commenting?
@@DeoVindice_61-65 Editor here, you can't do much of anything with an already mixed together broadcast. Only way they could fix it would be to find the original sound file of the US broadcast and mix it back with a clean feed of the pictures/track noise, not an easy task, if it's even possible considering this was recorded in freaking 1997
