Here I was dreading pulling my winch and bumper back off for my engine swap…. Lol. Thanks for showing us you can do the swap without even pulling the radiator!
I am a senior loan officer for a credit union . I wanted to let you know that piece of crap JEEP TJ is the best vehicle investment in the usa. When I purchased mine in March of 22 the nada high loan retail that all banks and credit unions determine value at and loan amount was 9k. As of May 2023 is the nada high loan value on mine without a new engine and 128k miles is 21k. The tj are extremely rare and harder and harder to find especially in good shape. Tell you customer to never sell that tj . They are a investment. Your customer said never getting ride of. He knows what he has with a TJ. My new jasper 4.ol will be here this Friday. Doing the same thing except replacing clutch and fly wheel since engine will be out. Loveeeeeee my tj. Until you own one you will not understand
Agree I bought mine in 2000 it’s a 1998 and they charge me 24,000 for that Jeep I said but a brand new one is 24,000 it was unbelievable. I said I will keep this jeep until the wheels fall off. I’ve had her 23 years now and we’re still going.
Shell Rotella T5 for those non roller lifters, or any oil with alot of zinc or ZDDP. never realized that TJ is moss green pearl, thats my favorite jeep color. im doing a topless 87 2 door XJ that color.
How's that Jasper holding up? My 98' Cherokee Classic is currently in the shop having a Jasper long block swapped in. My original motor was toast. I see some pretty awful reviews about Jasper remans but then again I see alot of awful reviews on all the reman companies. And like Bob and his TJ I doubt I'll ever part with my XJ.
you guys seem cool and I am only saying this because I care: Don't stand under the lift boom! You know this but for everyone else, The car lift has a mechanical lock to stop the vehicle falling if the hydraulics fail while you are under it. The engine lift has...your noggin.
I got an 02 TJ that needs an engine. Where did you buy this Jasper 4.0L ? Also, I've been doing some research. Is this better than an ATK? I don't know what engine to get, honestly.
How long does it take to install engine & the other replacement parts? And how much was the cost for all this work? I’m asking because my baby - a 1998 tj is going through the same problem and I too refuse to get rid of her. I just want to know a general price of all parts AND labor. Thank you.
