I wish Trans Am was still televised, I would rather watch it then NASCAR.

@@flyinwrenchzracingmarkmerc8487 My cable company (spectrum) just took the channel away that has Trans Am and made it an extra pay channel, I already pay $312 a month for basic, I can't pay any more, they are criminal.

What a great race this was for Tommy Kendall and his #11 Roush Racing team! Not only did he break Mark Donohue's record of 8 consecutive wins in a single season in this race, but he went on to win the next two (at Road America and Mosport), for a grand total of 11 victories in a row.

Yeah, back in the day, now they all use the Chevy engine, just like NASCAR.

Watched this from the 90 Grandstand in turn 1 as a 15 year old. Still have a picture of Tommy coming through 1 after the checkered

_You know what they say Ford stands for, don't you? It stands for "Fix It Again, Tony."_

IMO, It was moronic that the SCAA did not use The Boot for the Trans-Am back then. Talk about a mind-blower. ;-l

I remember watching Trans-Am on TNN. I didn't know they still existed until a few weeks ago when someone died in a crash.

Any idea what the music used on the starting grid is? That is some jazzy stuff there.

He won a whopping 11 of the 13 races in '97. All of them in a row

The gen 4 Camaro's were so superior to the Mustangs, notice the Camaros appear nearly production, the Mustangs have so much crap on the bodies you can't recognize them, they had the Camaro's restricted by this time also, I'm still racing one of these Camaro's, 625 hp unrestricted LT1, still one of the very fastest cars on the track, it wasn't to many years after this race that the Mustangs started using the Chevy engine, as they still do today, in Trans Am and NASCAR.
