I’ve got a huge hole in my stock pipe, so I was thinking about doing this full system. Are you satisfied with it?

Yes, it was great

I need some exhaust work done on the 3rd gen I just bought and I've been looking at this system. You think it's worth it? Not too much of a drone at highway speeds?
@LivingOverland
@LivingOverland 4 года назад
It will drone, but I believe we noticed our tires (MTs) more when cruising down the highway. The exhaust was more noticeable when accelerating.

MY dad has this exact system and it does drone at a certain highway rpm but its not too obnoxious, at idle its quiet, also with the highway driving its pretty easy to avoid that certain rpm range where it tends to drone so its really not that big of a deal.

@@703fishing3 thanks for the reply. I think I'm gonna avoid such a nice system for offroading purposes

I'm not sure I follow. You're thinking it is too nice to wheel? It is a nice setup and well made. I never encountered any issues wheeling our 4Runner with this exhaust system.

I have this same exhaust system installed on my 02 4runner 4x4, but my only issue is the exhaust system the pipe that go over the differential seems to hit the bottom of the car every time i drop in a hole or ride over bump. Do you or anybody have the same experience?
@LivingOverland
@LivingOverland Год назад
We never experienced that with ours. The routing was spot on with the factory layout. We tortured our old 4Runner without any issues with the exhaust. Sadly, we sold our 4Runner (June) three years ago, otherwise I run out and snap photos of the layout.

How much louder is it compared to the stock system
@LivingOverland
@LivingOverland Год назад
I'd say it is 25-30% louder outside at high revs (above 3k) otherwise, no major difference. That said, it does tend to drone and resonate in the vehicle stating at 2500RPM and gets to the point where it is difficult to carry on a conversation at 4500RPM

What's all that loose metal clanging? lose inner tube?
@LivingOverland
@LivingOverland 3 года назад
With 250k miles, June had a lot of things that rattled, including heat shields and random bolts. It was a constant battle finding and tightening everything!

@@LivingOverland I see I was hoping that it wasn’t the nice exhaust. What do u know about flowmaster or magna flow
@LivingOverland
@LivingOverland 3 года назад
Both make great products. We're looking at the new Magnaflow setup for our GX

How does it sound inside while driving?t
@LivingOverland
@LivingOverland 4 года назад
Sorry for the (very) late reply. It can be loud inside the vehicle when you are accelerating. This is actually one of the reasons why Toyota doesn't offer a TRD Pro exhaust on the 4Runner - the back is large resonating chamber.

I also got a 98 4runner and wondering if you had to do any fabrication or was it a no hassle bolt on installation? Thanks
@LivingOverland
@LivingOverland 4 года назад
It is a direct bolt in installation! The whole thing was very easy.

Does it drone
@LivingOverland

It does, a bit, in the interstate. We've noticed it more, now that we've run quieter tires like the Cooper ST/MAXX.

Have you noticed any power gains and is there a option for the side exit?
@LivingOverland

+Tony Nocita, I cannot say that I noticed power gains. Unfortunately, there is no option for a side exhaust.
