This is a VW engine and Audis are not durable at all in general. These 1.9 TDIs were durable. However this A4 generation has no space in the rear row so its pretty much useless as a family car. I wonder what is it good for.
My dad had this car as I was 5 years old. He drove the same about 10 years and we sold it with over 300.000km and did nothing out of timing-belt changing and normal service. Everything worked fine on this as we sold it after a crash on the rear bumber. So much emotions and experiences we done. I got my driving licence with 17, so that was my first car. It was an A4, AFN 110 horsepowers I bought from a dealer in Bavaria. After the first B5, I had 7x B5 - 1.9 TDI, 1.8 Turbo, 2.7 Biturbo.. Love this car. I build up my first car in 1:18 model scale and still love it. B5 is different love.
'B5 is different love' Dude, I love it! So true. Somehow a magic car. If I think of Audi justnin general I think of the original Quattro and the A4B5 always. Sadly I could just afford one of those two. 😅
My Dad had one of these all throughout my childhood, it was a Dark Green Avant that made over 270,000 miles in the end. So many great memories with it. Thank you Audi for building such a car!
You have A/C and a mighty 1.9 TDI , what more does a driver need. Still more (or equally) economical than modern "mild hybrids". Yes, I m from Balkans.
I just got a 1999 a4 1.9tdi for free, 468.000km. Runs perfect 👌 so i ended up here, i wanted to know a litle more about the car, thank's for the video 👍
Really regret letting my 1996 merlin purple A4 b5 1.9tdi go so I've bought another it's a black 1997 1.9tdi, im the 2nd owner with 86.000 from new ! Now I'm happy 👍 fantastic cars .
Am I the only one who thinks this car is insanely fast?My dad has the exact same car but with 116 hp.He got mad one day he floored it he got to 100 kmh in like 80 meters that's insanely fast.And that was in like tight roads,he passed 3 corners
I really loved this car as my dad had one (dark blue sedan) and it drove us from Norway Bergen to Oslo multiple times in a year back when i was 7 and sold off when i was 11. Loved it so much i plan on either getting this, the A4 b5 or the later model B6 wagon or sedan as soon as im 18.
I've drive many cars and i don't know why,but this generation of Audi lineup(a3 8l,b5,c5,d2) have best driving position of any cars.HAHAHHAHA it's funny,but for my taste seat position,steering wheel tickness,clutch,gear stick is perfect in any of this audis.I've talk about normal cars.For example people compare passat with this a4 and this above what i wrote is main reason why is audi better.

Audi to są dobre niezawodne tanie w utrzymaniu i wdzięczne samochody w swoim życiu miałem dużo audi od 80 kończąc na a6 i żadne mnie nie zawiodło silniki są każde dobre ale najbardziej to prawilne i pancerne 1.9 tdi któremu nic nie jest straszne fakt że osiągami nie zachęca ale jak się dba o ten silnik to on nam się odwdzięczy bezawaryjną pracą i niskimi kosztami utrzymania i dużym przebiegiem w komfortowych warunkach Jebać bmw 🖕
@@MrSvetrkravata zere to stejne jako kdyz to melo o 100k min.Olej jak co jak kdy.Servisuju si auto, tak ze kdyz tam je co se mi nezda jefu do servisu.Treba 0.4l na 3000-6000km dolevam oleje.Mesto spostreba 9- 11 normalni jizda mimo mesto 7.
Da au fost mașini bune la timpul lor.. Dar cu părere de rău sunt deja foarte vechi..!! Nu se mai face calitate ca la timpul lor.. adevarat mașini dizainice dar calitative parțial numai..!!
