I bought a 1997 Cadillac Deville 6 door Limousine from Long Island off of Ebay (that was where the lead was from) and it's similar to this one except it is white outside and burgundy on the interior and non-smoked windows. It was originally a hearse for a Memphis, TN funeral home. This video is very complete illustrating different aspects of the car in my opinion, from the point of view that I've been driving mine for 1 year as of last month.
wow!! that is one awesome 1998 cadillac limosine' love the sound of the 32v northstar v8!! it looks really nice for its age' that was an awesome vid kyle i loved it!
Its a funeral Limo 3 main features indicate this 1 the lack of a divider commonly found on a standard limo 2 the 2 extra doors not a normal feature of a limo used for weddings proms etc. 3 the most obvious is the 2 bench seats facing forward a party limo has everyone facing each other they are having a good time at a funeral your not going to want to talk too much hence the seats in the same direction
Very informative video nice laid back style. You also have a built in code reader with the ability to erase codes since the 4-6-8 368ci motor came out through at least 2005 in cadillacs.
@cadga1390 you don't think the lengthened body, the increased weight of additional occupants and the decreased aerodynamics of a limo would affect it much?
Nice horn. It reminds me of the Wii Online Store song and the sound of the V8 reminds me of Toyota's 90s saloons like the Crown and Cressida. It sounds like Vacuums.
Andrew Samy Well that's what I don't understand why that would be a problem. What is wrong with that? Instead of the car pushing you, its pulling you. The coachbuilder does not make drivetrain changes. They get the cars direct from the factory and then star making changes to the body itself. The FWD Deville like this are actually quite impressive and very advanced in many ways over the older Fleetwoods. Most people are just so use to having the RWD cars.
Luxury V8 FWD is more capable of cutting snow and sleet. Imagine how long the driveshaft would be if it were a RWD. The long driveshaft will introduce vibration no matter how much balancing effort is put into it.
Im not a fan of front wheel drive cars also but its not like deville is going on a racetrack or will go fast enough to do cutting edge corners. For what its made for, front wheel drive is ok. Plus its good for snow.
@uberman53 that is called a signiture large GM horn used on large caddies, buicks and oldsmobiles and i think chevy caprices as well. until Cadillac went all european.
@talldude123 p.s. My 2004 Toyota Corolla also has the same kind of Automatic driver's window. It's a great feature: it allows me a few more seconds to use my left hand for texting, and cel phone dialing while I'm driving....
Yeah, thanks for the basic "tour" of the Cadillac Deville but it's a freakin' limo! Who did the conversion? Who crafted the carriage top, etc? Very poor job showcasing this vehicle...
so my friend just bought a car just like this one except its not a limo, and he brought it over to my house to show me and we were trying to find the hazard lights and i found them and turned them on and went to turn them off and the knob broke off so i had to turn the flashers off with some needle nose plyers lol
