Hi! I will be getting my first car on the 28th of August of this year. UPDATE VIDEO COMING! When I do, I will be getting a more variety of cars on the channel. Thanks!
I bought a 98 2dr XLT Sport for $1600 as a winter truck few years back! All I had to do is get new tires and brakes and battery and general maintenance like oil change/ wipers that's about it! It had an aftermarket remote starter that I was unaware of that my brother got working again for me which was a great feature I used often when I had this truck. I never once got stranded anywhere with this vehicle and in bad weather the 4wd was an amazing handler. Body wasn't bad had some rust starting but solid yet for an old truck. I had an engine light that would go on and off and sometimes would stay on too! Story end I left the truck with my father in law cause his 2006 Colorado was falling apart and he needed a reliable truck and as where they live doesn't require echeck so he has it now and ive gotten myself a new 2021 Kia Sportage EX AWD but the Explorer was a good vehicle for what I paid for it no complaints. Reminded me alot of my Dad's old Aerostar and Rangers way it was truck-like.
Recently purchased a 1999 version from the wife of a deceased friend. I purchased to give to my sister in the midwest. As I turned the corner on the street we live, the car stopped running including the brakes. Took to local ford dealer who kept it for two months. Repaired the computer, changed the fluids, fixed a few of the issues and called me to pick it up. I originally asked the service person to check the air bag system to see if it was working (did not think so) and check the shift lever as it registered in the wrong spot when you drove. Also the battery was not charging according to the wife of the owner. Picked it up, they did nothing about the battery except change it for a new one, which was not the real problem. It was the alternator which had to be rebuilt or replaced so I left it at the dealer. The shift lever still was not fixed when I picked it up. They said the air bags pumps were working. There are no air bags on the auto, some one removed them. I don't think much of ford or the dealership in Napa, CA especially after the maintenance manager called me every name he could think of and would not fix the items that needed done.
@@slavvings we never did unfortunately, now it's in a condition that'll cost us more than it's value let alone the price we paid for it to even get it running
as a 98 ford explorer owner (my first car)... i wish mine looked nearly this nice. but after 229k strong miles i can't complain. i did fuck up the front left fender pretty badly last New years, but that's what i get for doing donuts in a parking lot.
But you know being young not knowing about cars was all it took for that to happen. Looking at another one with the v6 so imo they good trucks just gotta baby them
@@kylepride4353 that’s awesome! I actually bought a 2000 explorer with 118k on the odo 4.0 v6 4x4 1 family owned. Friend is storing it for me while went abroad but can’t wait to use again!
@@jsh06gaming46 nice nice! Yea mine is in pretty darn good shape considering its age. How much would u sell mine for if u were to sell it? It has perfect interior, 5.0L, kenwood touchscreen, with 133,xxx miles. It bluebooked at 3200, but I don't always feel like they give u best price.
@@kylepride4353 honestly, it depends on rust. The people who I bought it from wanted 3500 but I got them to fix everything and ended up selling it to me for 2500. It has some frame rust but body is in decent shape. The state the car came from didn’t allow visible rust. My state doesn’t mind and we only have real snow once or twice a year. Honestly I’d personally aim high at 3500 and just be relatively open to offers....See if anyone bites
