This was my first, ever NASCAR race, & I loved it. The atmosphere, personalities, plus the adrenaline & the excitement fired on all cylinders. Also, my favorite driver Jeff Gordon (Vallejo, California's own!) won! Yippee!
They all showed up and raced according to the rules (well, sort of). It was a series of races and whoever had the most points at the end of the year won. Then in the 90s it exploded with popularity and Brain France got greedy. He tried to compete with football and came up with gimmicks to get more fans. All he did was dig a hole. Now that he's gone, maybe we should go back to the 90s way of scoring. I really like the way the trucks started out on small tracks and had a 5 minute intermission - and their unlimited Green White Checkers!
The DJ and Burton bump, was DJ's fault, even though Burton did turn into him. DJ refused to give Burton a line into the turn and kept going straight, Burton held out as long as he could until he HAD to start to turn, anything later and he would be angled into the wall. So yea, it was DJ being a dick.
