Thank you for all these RL videos man .. you turn me for a oil change guy to a serious DIY car guy. I inherited a 2000 RL from my sister and did a boat load of work just by following your videos I really appreciated it..

I had to take the air box out to take that bottom valve cover bolt on my rl it's a pain good video.

i have a 2001 acura rl ho do you take off the power steering hose from the reservior to the rackin pinion mines is leaking up under the car to the back by the rack pinion

Sorry I'm just getting back to you. Hopefully, you've been able to resolve your issue. This isn't a job I've had to do on the RL yet, so I don't know the best method for removing the hose. It would seem that removing the large bowtie-shaped metal plate under the car then using a flare nut wrench that fits snugly should work. I've included a link to the service manual that may be useful. Do you know what is that clicking noise in the trunk on the driver side behind the rear back seat? And what is that little black box for in the cargo area on the drive side its mounted behind the back seat?

I have the same clicking issue, which I plan on addressing soon. Apparently, it's coming from a secondary fuel relay. I'm not sure of the black box's purpose. 96-04 Acura RL Facebook group: facebook.com/groups/1427987647415950/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT

The oil pan is quite a bit of work. Since I don't currently have a leak, it's not one I've planned to tackle. Thanks for checking out the videos!

Does the transmission have any solenoids? If so where are they located

I don't recall ever reading that the RL has solenoids.

What is in the AC hose? Coolant, freon? I was thinking about removing it when I do my gasket.

Freon/refrigerant, so definitely not worth removing.

It's the Craftsman Nextec Right Angle Impact (320.17562). It's no longer in production, but it's available on sites like eBay at quite a bit more than I paid over a decade ago.

Has anyone heard of 08 Acura rl blowing white smoke bc of valve covers

White smoke is typically a sign that coolant is being burned in the engine, but this person found that worn exhaust valve stem seals caused a similar condition: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NoLXb3KSuCU.html Coolant being burned will have a sweeter smell than oil being burned.
