Great footage of the trophy presentation and extended pitch side celebrations of the 1999 Champions League final in Barcelona. Taken from the Manchester United 'Champions of Europe' VHS video release. #Classic #Treble #ChampionsLeague
Greatest season/achievement by far in English football, can never be topped, not only the treble but how dramatically we won all three trophies, nothing was ever easy. To this day keano's performance vs juventus is the single greatest big game outing i've seen a united player have, there wouldn't be a treble without our captain. without schmeichel there never would be an fa cup, without ole we never would have had the greatest moment in our club's history. Love each one of them 🔴
I agree. He dragged the players by their balls back into the game. He didn't need much incentive to put in a performance like that. But I believe the fact that Edgar Davids was in the opposition midfield fired him up even more. Beckham mentioned in his book that the presence of Edgar Davids had them gave them more motivation to battle hard.
City winning the treble is an achievement in its self but with the team we won it with and had to play against every legend of the game to complete it will never be topped..
Unforgettable night, the very introduction to the game by Freddie Mercury & M. Caballé was unforgettable ... [I recommend to see] the rest of the performance that took place on May 26, 1999 in the temple called Camp Nou .. it was.. pure magic!. To this day I have a VHS recording of the whole match :)
1999, that was the year when united was given the title that they had reached " the promised land" what a team under sir alex ferguson! We were jubilant as school going boys seeing utd carry the champions league trophy.
Roy Keane should have lifted the cup that night and not Schmeichel. Keane was suspended for the final but he was the main reason they won everything that yr
1:56 Clive Tydlesley was right Lothar Mattheus never got another chance because he retired the following season and it was identical to the 1987 final when Bayern lost to Porto having took the lead then lost it to 2nd half goals in 3 minutes
