(cough cough)...after about a month of being chocked out by California fire smoke, decided to go hit some trails anyways. We went and visited some peaks and valleys located right outside my backyard. My dad came along in his Durango and my children. My daughter was riding shotgun with me and my son with Grandpa. Its funny, you can hear her getting irritated by the rough ride is spots as she was trying to read her book. lol.
As usual, I'm out for the adventure first and foremost and vlogging is an after thought. In fact, I just tossed on the sports cam I had in the glovebox. The battery wasn't too good and I only captured about 30 minutes of footage. And of course, the really interesting portions came after the batteries were dead.
Normally these trails are vibrant and bustling with activity. This smoke is keeping many indoors. Unfortunately, illegal dumping is still an issue out here and there is evidence of that in this video. I do bring a heavy trash bag to collect, but I was not dressed properly or have PPE on hand. Rattlesnake is a real threat out here, and to top it off...there is drug needle waste out here too.
Sad.
