0:32 exactly why I love my LS400 (1991) . Listen. Traffic noise up the ass. What happens once he gets inside and closes the door? SILENCE. When I'm driving down the highway at 65 mph. the only thing I hear is the wind noise. No loud exhaust, no loud engine noise, no funny squeaks or rattles. And I'm talking about my 25 year old car with 340,000 miles on the ticker. As close to a perfect car as has ever been made.
smithraymond09029 I thought I was the only one that noticed that when he closed the door. LoL I have an 06 and I love feeling isolated from all the outside noise.
I sat behind the wheels of a Burgundy LS 400 and next week I'm buying it from a client of mine. I drove it, experienced its strength, its solid feel, and quiet power. It's real! Something I cannot explain gives this car some kind of perpetual reliable feel. For starter you know it's luxury, but it feels truly like prime comfort and resilient mechanics. Thank you for your accurate feedback and sharing the story of the engine built to be suitable for an air plane engine..
I prefer European cars but I have granted the LS400 an exception as it truly is a remarkable automobile. Lexus deserved the praise it got and I'm glad this car was a hit with consumers in America.
I have the exact same car with 145,000 miles. The car had 32,000 miles when purchased 16 years ago. Had the timing belt replaced at 95,000 miles and starter replaced at 80,000 miles, that's all the money I've spent on this car in 113,000 miles. How could it get any better??? So, I totally agree with all you said about this car. Fantastic vehicle to say the least.
I just bought a 1998 TJT. It is awesome. I have just completed the most miles on two long trip that I have done in the U.K. in the last three days and I feel chilled. It's my second LS400, but the 1998 revision rocks. Sooo much power man.
Good job homie . I have a 1999 ls 400 . My favorite car ever it hauls ass and just luxury .Fit and finish is amazing and totally reliable . Under the driver seat is a medical kit . see the rectangular box and push in and will pop out , band ads everything in it , also a tool kit in trunk as well as programmable key,. hold down unlock and opens windows and sunroof ,great on a hot day before you enter . good review ;OP
Yes. LEXUS. Is. The. One. For. Durability for. Sure Lexus. Also catches the eye quick & has top notch style & Comfort I. Give LEXUS a Big 10🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
Excellent review. 5000.00 is an excellent buy. The interior is 1st class and add in Lexus reliability and this is a good car. I will now look at this year and model for my next car because of this review.
Totally agree lil homie, I have gold platinum series ls 400 with 146,000 miles, one of best cars ever made, gon give it to my son next year he turn 18. Good vid. Peace
Mine is a 97 and it has 112,000 miles. It is a phenomenal car and I plan on taking it down the road for as long as it will let me. It just doesn't get any better than the LS400. I don't like the new ones, that is why I'm gonna keep her going as long as she's willing to do so.
"97 LS 400 40-110,000 miles: $1,600 Power Steering leak, $2,000 new starter, $1,000 Major servicing, $1,200 timing chain, cracked dash from sun, radio cut in and out, over $1,000 new and balance tires every 40-45,000 miles, avg. 17 MPG premium. Nice car, ain't cheap.
I have the 2000 LS400 w/253K looks and runs great. I just got a tune-up and fuel injection service because I didn't have any record of when it was done last and then the check engine light went on (code 440) but it turns out some of the old hoses were brittle and cracked when the work was done & needed to be replaced. Car is running like new again.trying to put some miles on it and hope the check engine light doesn't come on again, otherwise perfect car.
TJT great information my man, keep doing what you're doing,I gotta test drive one of these,soon...Just one thing these 400s we're compared with the BENZ S CLASS and 7 SERIES BMW not the Benz E class and the BMW 5 series, great job though my man...
I have a 2005 Lexus Es300 and I reall love the thing soooo much waaaay nicer to drive than newer cars, but... I really want want an Ls400 or Ls470 too! I want both hahahaha
Gorgeous vehicle, Highley reliable easily can get 400,000 miles on these smooth V8 Japanese engines with rountine maintenance, the only thing to watch out for is the Starter motor, which is very difficult to get to, and the EGR which is the Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe both of these parts are going to go bad its inevitable, when time for replacement will be very expensive especially at the Lexus Dealership to replace, best bet is to find a independent shop that works on Japanese luxury vehicles, you probably can save hundreds on the labor cost.
I just bought it a 2000 LS400 last week.. I can't wait to register it and get on the road. It basically looks like this car..the steering wheel comes out but doesn't go up and I think I need to get the brakes checked. But otherwise the car is perfect
I own an 87 Benz 560SEC that is mind blowing love the SEC's. Great weekend ride. But if I could find a gen II LS400 in really nice shape with low miles I'd pull the trigger and make it my daily driver. These cars are known for being bullet proof. They just go forever. But I'll never be able to find one. For the record I despise the insane electronics with new cars. Nothing but distractions. EVERYTHING is computerized with way too many electronic doodads everywhere. Doodads that will cost a fortune to fix once they all start breaking.
They have some real nice LS400s out there, just gotta search...I have a 96 S420, expensive to maintain but what a great car,I'm gonna get one of these or the LS430 maybe even the 460L,eventually I'll have it....
Thank you for this video sir I have been looking for a Lexus sl400 I love that color that you have on yours can you please tell me what the exact color is I'm thinking it's just gold it could be a gold metallic very nice car very nice video also thank you for your time you have a great day
Those are my 3 favorite sedans. The W140 S-Class (1992-1999) being my fav. I'm looking for a good LS400 now only because the S-Class and 7-Series need more upkeep and cost an arm and a leg to maintain. Fine cars though. Best era for top end sedans.
@@waverunner7063 S CLASS is KING in my opinion,I have a 96 S420 with over 200,000 miles, and the maintenance over the yrs is INSANE,but what a great car, POWERFUL,COMFORTABLE,what a SMOOTH ride, but only if you can afford it,I'm looking at the LS400,430 or the 460L,I'll have one eventually... Insurance isn't expensive with those older cars, I'll tell anyone don't but an S CLASS or BMW if you can't afford the maintenance over the years because they will break down and leave you stranded,TRUST ME I KNOW, buy a LEXUS...
I didn't even hear the engine start which was the most annoying feature of the LS400 when I did valet parking back in the 90's because I remember once trying to start it when the engine was already on it was so fucking quiet. Ooops!
Honestly that's pretty rad for a big car with a V8, and I'm blown away by my cars mpg. 2001 CR-V All wheel drive 5 speed, fun ad hell and it's no hot rod but it just goes. Handles good, traction in all weather. Anyways lol one day I'll pick up one of these LS400 cars, I like the 430 just because the body is soo nice. Seen one with a light front hit, runs and drives for $800. Body work I estimated would be about $2000. Front bumper, one headlight, a grille, and taillight. 🙏🤘
Nope. My last repair was $18 (fuel rail pulse damper leaked). Everything else since 1998 were just wear items....brake pads, wiper blades, batteries, etc.
@@joeycarmona2317 You must have your cars mixed up,you must be talking about a BENZ or BMW because these transmissions are really solid in all these LEXUS models,it's TOYOTA man, smh,LOL ..
