@@marvaff6878 I think him going to Liverpool was a minor annoyance really - we didn't need him any more by the time he was sold in 1995 and we became a much better team without him. Him going to Liverpool was him finding his level really. It's more the disrespect he showed to the club while he was at it and after he left (which wasn't a new thing for him - he'd disrespected West Ham (his boyhood club no less) when he joined United.

Yep, no replay here unfortunately but it was a brilliant tackle. Probably the best thing he ever did for us actually, and he got penalised! There's no justice. I remember at the time I thought Carragher had been red-carded for kicking him in the chest at the other end, so when Irwin was sent off I thought 'oh well, it's 10v10 now'. I should pay more attention. I think Elleray was on a bit of a mission in this game to be honest.

@@robicenco1 obviously deluded! Jesper blomqvist was a quality player for United that season. He only scored 1 but set up loads. Would of been a decent squad olayer like nicky butt was, but he got plauged by injries in pre season after winning the treble. Not his fault! He had huge potential, typr in amazing blomqvist goal on youtube! This tackle was a decent hook away i thought at the time. Was definitely not useless, just played second fiddle to giggsy becauae well obviously he wasn't as good as giggsy! Theres a reason he started the champions league final in 99, and 27 other games that season.

@@robicenco1 also it was obviously a penalty when carra kicked blomqvist in his chest, should of been a red card for dangerous play.

@@alexpidoux8686 I was being a bit flippant - he wasn't a bad player but it felt like he never quite fitted in. That just happens sometimes. It was like he turned up at a party that was just getting into full swing but he was still a bit nervous and didn't really know anyone, so it didn't quite happen for him. It was kind of typical of his luck that he did something here (the tackle) that should have been remembered as a key contribution to a famous win... but it ended up costing the team. Totally unfair on the fella but that's life sometimes. Liverpool fans need to remember this match when they go on about corrupt referees, never getting penalties, United/Fergie owning the refs, blah blah.

@@robicenco1 it didnt happen for him because of injuries, not because he wasnt good enough or didnt fit in. He was an outstanding player before united and then it was always going to get into a midfield which allready included becks, keane, scholes, giggs. He never lived up to his true potential unfortunately as he was struck down in his prime.. man united brought him to the best flubbin the world for a reason. As keane said last year to carragher, it takes a squad to win 3 trophies in 1 season, and he was a key part of it and set up a fair few goals in champions league and the league. Cant remember too many in the F.A cup though. He was just as much of a key player as P.Neville, Cole, Beckham, Sheringham, Berg and Johnson. My opinion anyway.
