Had one of those for seven years, same model, same year. My favourite car ever. Replaced it with a Dame Edna facelift which had more horses, more gears and loads more toys but somehow never liked it quite as much.
That's ace Chris, you'll see from my other vid I've got a Dame Edna now but i'm already thinking of selling that and buying an older wagon. Build quality, materials and feel was better in the 1990s car than the late 2000s.
those are a bit less well built as well, 2002-2005 were the best years to get them in, at least in terms of build quality, and a manual from that era would definitely be faster than a dame edna auto. only problem is the pre 2004s had a less than ideal pcv system which you would need to replace if it hasn't been done already, though most that are still running, especially high mileage ones probably already had that sorted
You do find some gems Geoff that's a beauty lovely colour too I've got a fully loaded 93 aero convertible in grey on a 53 plate I've had it just over 6 years it's been so reliable engine is in good shape I find it very comfortable to drive even on long motorway journeys around town mine is doing 26/27mpg on a long haul 40/42 mpg I only give it some real welly now and then to blow the wax out of it's ears so to speak 😂 cheers dave from Somerset
You have to love the quirkiness of Saab. Also the reference to the 40-70 pull is for the manual which is daft quick. Good luck with the car, they are awesome.
Yes it was hard to get accurate data for the Saab the only way to really gauge it was to just drive it. I absolutely have these saved in my eBay searches from now on. Now, a wagon...
Geoff Buys Cars The 93 OG aero manual is a beast too, and then there is the Viggen.... same engine as in your aero. To be fair Saab nailed it with the turbos even if the early ones were a bit laggy. Like the Volvo, quirky and fast and massively underrated. Great video.
SO MANY MESSAGES! It was a couple of weeks before Sam could collect and I genuinely could have sold it 10x over between the deposit going in and the car leaving. Thanks for watching!
it's just a bit of fun, they're fine once you're used to them but if you haven't driven Saabs before it's a bit odd to get used to. Thanks for watching :-)
You cleaned car but did u think of changing the oil and filters more inportant than cleaning. I see car sales guys have their cars valeted but dont service for new buyer.. Fresh start i say..
This is really a poorly equipped Aero from pre-facelift era. Manual seats, no seat ventillation, only AS1 audio so it's as far from Harman/Kardon sound as it can be, basic grey dashboard decor... Aaah, I cry. Moreover, it is missing front Aero spoiler lip and the belt (pulley?) was clearly squeaking a bit already. And you still managed to sell it for 2000. Okay... Okay.
Thanks for the comment, it didn't state in the video but the correct bumper was with the car, it came with 2 bumpers because the one on the car had a big crack in it. I didn't realise about the seats and seat vents though.... and now I do :-)
