Nostalgic, Tempest is the time frame where I was starting to play competitively....oh the memories. Seeing power nine in LGS in the case for $200-300, Stronghold around the corner, everyone buzzing about the new Mox and all. Good times

its interesting how the market treats some of these cards as if there is zero collectors market in the game for them. some are still so close to bulk pricing. i understand there is a lot but a rare from tempest still seems like it should warrent a higher price tag if it'll never be reprinted just from collector demand alone. but apparently no one cares and its speculators bouncing the cards off each other often times at a loss if they aren't accumulating them through collection buying. makes me want to just collect a bunch of sub $1 reserved list cards but not for profit but because i actually like weird and unique cards in the binder or the cube. other people are missing out its pretty cool how the secondary market has maintain a supply of these at such cheap prices . pokemon in comparison there is a truely strong collectors market where fans go crazy about cards just because of how they look if magic had that at the same level i feel like all sub $1reserved list cards would be in bgs and psa cases by now at 100 a pop probably wrong but seems like it sometimes.

I don't think any of those are on the reserved list.

i dont about the first one, the waste was nice at 40$ but the mystery booster lotus petal is more expensive than the OG at 12$ and the rider is 2 bucks and the medallion is 25$ it was reprinted in commander 2014

Those rare pulls from the first pack would have been amazing if powerlevel weren't pushed to the point where it is currently. A S-tier creature etc...Will there be time when we chase PSA/BGS 10s basics from Tempest?

Warcraft 2, space craft, age of empires, Zelda ocarina of time. Oh the nostalgia. The MOST important aspect of MTG for the original generation of the game. Can remember going to Trumps Hobby’s and buying starter decks and booster packs of Tempest. If only we knew then what we know now!

Tempest was one of my fav sets back in the day, had many of those decks, good times.

Tradewind-Survial of the Fittest was quite possibly my favourite deck to play in what used to be the Extended format. With your wall of blossoms, spike feeders, squees, counters, force of wills, morphlings and lots of etb effects. So much toolbox. Not much respect now for ole tradewindy. But bless his airy soul.

Hard to believe those things are around $400. I bought literally a hundred or more, cause I believed they had a better chance at cursed scrolls. Would flip a cursed scroll just to buy ~2 more (could flip immediately for $16+). Man I miss those days, but $400 is insane

I like creatures with shadow. I like to use them for stuff where you need something to hit a player. Nothing blocks shadow now days, WTF is shadow??

I have a dozen of these Urza starters and brought some of my collection to a LGS in Enosburg VT and he decided to keep 7 of the rares and a handful of uncommons. Also tried to take a Trop. Thankfully i caught that and after threatening to call the police it turned up. Also had my Cradle in a deck at home thank goodness. Sucks when you can't trust other members of the community

I personally had gotten into magic right when the sixth edition came out, but my cousin had been showing me his magic cards and been playing magic for about a year, maybe a tad more before me. He was on the hunt for a specific Sliver, I don’t remember which one it was off the top of my head, but he said that they were popular because the movie “Sliver” that had came out recently as well, I think there was a sex scene, Gigitty.... And that’s how memes are made 🙃

If I had a time machine I'd go back to 1998 and buy 20 cases of Tempest and Stronghold.

You my have not liked shadow but I did. Turn 2 win with shadow/hatred sac 18 life win. Was my fastest win in a tournament.

Can you make a video on grading??? I’ve noticed a lot of shops and sellers grade cards with clouding/spots as near mint... it’s hard to find honest sellers!

Do an audit on your whole collection then put it all up on Ebay and watch magic completely get destroyed

They're not the most expensive, but from that era I still love Ice Age and Mirage the most.
