In my opinion the vintage market IN GENERAL is still in a bear market. Vintage Pokemon whilst better than modern magic in liquidity is still in a massive lull outside of tier 1 rarity cards! Pokemon cards now make vintage cards look terrible just how modern magic cards are crazy powerful compared to vintage magic cards (outside of the power and a few tier 1 powerhouses)
Its crazy. I have followed rudys advice for 2 years and i have made money on every single mtg interaction i have done. If your loosing money in this market your not really listening to this mans advice.
Yet you claim to have only made $8 a box of Fallout CBB flipping. Is that $8 your huge profit Timmy? You can buy 2.67 tacos for that much. 😮 Wow you can almost afford a $10 bill. 😅
Here's the sick truth about all this hold and flip collectors box crap. I have a fairly active ebay store i probably sell atleast 3 things a day if it were averaged. I bought 4 fallout collectors boxes and sold them on ebay for literally double what i paid but after ebay takes their 30% i made 8 dollars a box.
You made a second comment after this claiming people are stupid if they lose money on MTG. You literally said the opposite in this post. You're lying in one of them, choose.
As EDH is the overwhelming format these days, only cards that see at least a little play in EDH or have potential can cause a buyout. The drawing card ability is very nice in EDH games. Furthermore, the new mechanic committing a crime is the reason for its potential. The days of a 3 USD card are definitely over. There are more hidden edh treasures on the Reserved list.
This video makes me think of that carved stone tablet from Assyrian in 2800 B.C. where its talking about how society is degrading, the earth is in it latter days and everything as we know it is coming to and end. 4000 years later and nothing about humans has really changed.
To be fair, for them it did. Their entire world was small and the Earth Globe as we know it today was a complete mystery. So they were absolutely correct. All societies fail, every last one that was isn't anymore.
They should run a seperate retro magic series with oldschool style artwork and card design. that would get me into magic again after 20 years of not wanting to buy cards that look overstyled glittering or plainly stupid.
Play the game kids.... Stocks. yes it matters where you get in.... BUT... you will NEVER get in on the bottom.... or if you do, your lucky as hell. As long as the price is reasonable, there isn't an issue. IF you want the best price..... YOU will ALMOST never get it. Get mad, Get angry.... Run like the idiot you are (sorry, not sorry!) But really, again. If the price is fair, remember kids, sometimes you'll get it below, and I won't tell you not to, but DON'T get mad at the guy selling for a fair price, cause.... it's fair. And remember, a few dollars less, while profitable on... idk 1000 boxes is good.... How many of you are buying 1000 boxes? Almost none of you! wow, Pikachu Face! (JK) A few dollars make a difference when you buy TONS... when you don't it doesn't matter at all. Learn the lesson and grow...... Other wise, I get to laugh at you as I make Millions..... Or maybe I have..... you'll never know cause I'll never say... MUHAHAHAHA.... Good luck!

I am in my 40's. Admittedly, nostalgia is the primary driver of my interest in MTG. People like me, who got into the game early, want to purchase cards they couldn't afford when they were younger. However, with all of the new rules, power creep, and countless sets being pumped out every other month, it does not give me hope that any of the older cards will retain much value. The game is way too complicated now with Plainswalkers, Sagas, Commanders, and all the other stuff. The days of clean white borders with real artwork also seem to be gone. It looks like cheap garbage now.
This actually is the greatest bubble of all time, nominally. But what will go down is the US Dollar. S&P will "go up" in USD terms but not really in a hard asset index like Gold or BTC
You can have a marvel or a legendary in your box and be wrecked too. Open F&B is a real gamble and a waste of money. I collect and play F&B but I only buy singles directly.
