Agreed! And it was at a clutch moment, too. Funny thing is on the actual footage with audio, I’m giving Nick some caddie advice on where to land the chip and he followed it perfectly. I immediately regretted it.😂
Nice to see Jamie Hyneman in his youth playing this beautiful game (Any Mythbusters fans out there) Honestly though, this was great fun to watch and really well put together. Liked the intro to the clubs as they were used in the beginning. It’s nice to feel an era all encompassing
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it. We were pleasantly surprised to find such a fun gem of a course for gutty golf so near to the course we play our featherie golf event each year (Hillcrest Golf Center in Washington, IL)
Fantastic post Christian, kudos all around. Frankly I could watch a video like this everyday. What a capture, thank you so much and please consider a follow-up video of another match sometime soon. Thank you for your hard work.
Thanks, Bill - will do! I really enjoyed making this one and will definitely be making more. And Nick definitely wants a rematch so we’ll make that happen.
Very nice video Christian. Your ball seemed to really die on the putting greens is that pretty typical of gutty golf balls? But looked like you had a lot of fun making the video.
Thanks, Ben! Yeah, the synthetic gutta balls we’re using don’t roll as well as a modern ball. My ball especially is a slower roller because it’s hand-rolled and hand-hammered. That all said, these greens were a little shaggy. On a faster surface, you wouldn’t be able to notice it as much.
Wonderful Cecil B. DeMille production quality with a suspenseful climax more exciting than the heart-pounding moment when the damsel in distress is untied from the train tracks just seconds before the train arrives.
@@sadie6339 😂 We’re still asking ourselves that to this day! That was the yardage according to the scorecard, but they were doing some work on the course when we played and I’m thinking we had an old card that didn’t reflect that hole changing from a par 4 to a 5. Definitely felt long to us.
