Phil Harris has a personal mission to locate the gravesites of each of the 19th Indiana soldiers, beyond that he strives to learn what happened to the survivors after the war. 1st Corp, 1st Division. 19th Indiana. Company K . Franklin Whitney, David Whiitney and one other brother all killed. Mordecai was a 4th brother in the 19th but he was invalided out. Mordecai married Eliza Orr (her brother was in the 19th as well). Their graves are in the cemetary near Selma. Davids is empty as he died at Salisbury NC Prison and was burtied in a mass grave. Franklin was killed in battle after the Wilderness near Weldon RR (David was wounded about the same time and taken to a hospital which was captured and he was taken to Salisbury). The other brother was killed at Laurel Hill.
