this whole video is pretty much a discussion of what you are asking, I am pretty confused about why you are confused. Your context is your overall outcome, your desire for the result of EVERYTHING you are going to do. It is the basis upon which all the various factions or opposing parties are going to find common ground. So lets take an American example. Lets say you decide upon a context that you want every person in the USA to have healthcare, then the obvious comeback is, every person, or every legal person, and then they come back and say, no every person. Well, right there you find that the factions cannot even decide on a context. If you cannot, then you are doomed to failure. So you have to have a level of trust and honesty to even develop a context, if you have that, you can decide upon a context and then begin working down thru the details to achieve the context. You can seriously disagree about how to approach the context, lets say that by some miracle, America decide on a context that was sane, and wanted every Legal Citizen and Legal Alien with a visa or whatever to have healthcare, and one side wanted "the government" to pay for it in a single payer fashion, and the other faction wanted individuals to pay for it, and perhaps provide subsidized insurance for those that could not pay full price for it or some other type of hybird system that required individuals to take a more active role in providing for their own healthcare and keeping government out of it from that end. Now the two side could argue vociferously about this issue, but if they are holding true to the context, they are going to agree to do test cases with agreed upon metrics to determine which method was best, and conduct themselves in the process as honest actors, and not have ulterior motives for separate agenda's. That is context used correctly, and that is why he was sad about the confusion of it being mistaken as a "goal", it is not just a goal, it is your why, it is the very driver of the behaviors at the most fundamental level, it should be what would make a democrat and a republican cooperate, and if they fail to, they look more the fool, or more the evil obstructionist for not doing so, than if they forthrightly stood up and said they disagreed with the context in the first place.

@@idiocracy10 that almost sounds like you are conflating "context" with "over-arching goal" or something. He said it's not a goal... To have everyone receive education in America, your example, isn't that a "goal" more than a context?

Perhaps context can be backward enginered by getting repersentitves of each type of stake holder together and use conflict resolution and win/win solutions to find a working solution/framwork. My guess would be context is the framework that guides the WHAT and or WHY Goals would be the HOW. And the plan/actions/progrm would be the WHEN and WHERE.

@@Regrarians It is an honest question. I am too old and have seen too much politics to be ideological about it, government picks winners and losers every day thru social engineering, rent seeking, and crony capitalism generally, and that is the best of it, the socialist authoritarian government types are worse in most cases. My interest is in Salatin's opinion of THIS TYPE of social engineering, because of his innovative implementation of motivational compensation systems on his farm and his rather adept grasp(imo) of what encourages the behaviors he wants encouraged, and reduces the tensions that he wants reduced, I was interested to see if he had any insights to Savory's proposed system, although, Savory did indicate that what he described was a simplified, bare bones breakdown of the actual proposal, for the sake of the constraints of the conversation. I wish you all the success in your endeavors, and have been watching your talks on youtube, and seeing some of the negative comments you get from perma culture purists, or vegan mindset environmentalist types, So I certainly understand why you may be a bit defensive generally. I am certainly not above a troll or a dig on a youtube comments thread, but this was not intended as one.

Thanks jkm, I very much appreciate the elaboration. I’m not going to speak for Joel, only he can do that and knowing him it’s incredibly unlikely that he would reply here. Knowing Allan and Holistic Management pretty well I’m going to suggest that given its framework and its initial focus on establishing an individual’s Holistic Context that the self-determination that this process tends to support is not going to be inconsistent with Joel’s libertarian beliefs and practices. That is to say that we’re any policy to be developed then if it were to follow The HM framework then the process by which it was developed would be something that Joel might support, though the outcome being legislation would be another matter given his demonstrated laissez-faire views.

The place to start would be to go and 1. Do some training with either/both the Savory Institute and Holistic Management International and 2. Find a ranch (s) that's practicing Holistic Planned Grazing and offer to apprentice or intern with them so that you get a better sense of what's involved.

Is the Champions program a good start?

Hi Linda, if you listen through headphones - the audio is fine. Unfortunately, we didn't know this was about to take place and as it was in a circle of people it would've been quite rude to stand directly in front of Allan, blocking the rest of the circle's vision. We did the best we could at the time as we had been taking B-Roll of people having dinner with a RODE mike attached to the camera before this started and were unaware this was about to take place.
