What a great story Its truly a blessing to have a dad or family member to take you hunting. The older I get the more enjoyment I have in taking my grandpa and friends who maybe have never experienced hunting. We all sometimes get caught up in hunting and doing stuff for ourselves but I have truly come to enjoy slowing down and spending time with the people I care about and sharing one of Gods greatest gifts the outdoors. I have one of my first turkey hunts on my channel if you want to go check it out. Awesome video again jay can’t wait to see how your hunts go this year.
Makes me want to video all my hunts. Not for now but many years later I want to see the hunt, as I am now realizing special details disappear over time
I never had anyone teach me to turkey hunt. But my uncle took me to kill my first squirrel and deer. He taught me a lot. But his health declined and he never took me turkey hunting. But he’d talk to me and tried to help. I’d go for 5 years and never could figure it out. Then on a rainy day I decided to go out and I seen a Jake and done a spot and stalk. Ended up getting him at 35 yards. First bird. Then a few years ago something clicked and I started being able to call birds in. Started to understand them and read them a little better. Me and my brother don’t talk and my dad has no interest in hunting. So I have no one to share my interest with other than friends but they like deer hunting more. Still learning as I go but I’m slowly getting there. Still haven’t mastered calling but it’s good enough to get a few within range. But as long as I go out and hear one gobble I have fun and enjoy it.
Priceless when I was little I killed my first turkey with my father and now I'm a father my son killed his first turkey with me. Now all three of us turkey hunt together. Now it's about the love of a wild turkey and US 3 spending time together
