I just spent months looking for one, Just found a 04 Tundra with zero body or frame rust. Has a few dings and dents, but all repairable. Just got done taking the cheap 2" lift out of it that the guy had on it when i bought it. Also got a hell of a deal! $4900. I would choose this truck over a brand new 2023

I bought a 2006 SR5 Double Cab with 123,000 miles. It's a cream puff, looks like it's never been sat in and no accidents. Not a speck of rust anywhere.

I change my engine oil every 10,000 miles. I only do this with full synthetic oil and filters designed for 10,000 miles. By changing the oil on the even 10,000 then 20,000 then 30,000 I don't have to look at stickers or have to try to remember. I have 3 of the 1st generation Tundras and all 3 are doing excellent. For those that may have problems with ignition coils, here is how I finally solved that problem with one of mine. Purchase the expensive best spark plugs for that truck that it calls for. Get the lifetime ignition coils and then all the spending for these parts stopped for me. I kept replacing ignition coils until I done all that.

Nice Trundra! + nice informative video! One thing(might be an age thing 🙃). Just a little slow down with over expression and arm movement. Keep up the good work!
@carznvp
@carznvp Год назад
Thanks boss! I’ll definitely try to slow down the hand movement. As a mechanic, we do things with our hands and we explain certain things with expressive hand movement 😂 it’s an issue we know. Thanks for checking out the video!

replace your coolant every 30-50k or 3 years. The coolant protects your headgasket from corroding, I've seen them blow in as low as 150 in a lot of toyotas just because the owners didn't properly maintain coolant or worse put green coolant in.
@carznvp
@carznvp 23 часа назад
Yes for sure, especially take this persons advice above. DO NOT MIX COOLANTS. Make sure you know how often your coolant needs to be changed by reading the label on the box of coolant. My advice is to always pay more to get a longer lasting coolant. You’ll pay slightly more initially but it’ll save you long term. One it’ll save you physical money because while you may save money upfront you will have to buy it earlier and the more expensive longer lasting coolant isn’t normally twice as expensive, second it’ll save you piece of mind of not having to worry as much (buys you more time to not maintain the vehicle) Thanks for Watching!

I have an 05 tundra, toyota recommends 100k mile for timing belt. My best friends 2001 TRD 4x4 tundra has 460k miles. Nothing has been replaced except the radiator, waterpump, timing belt. Just recently rear diff went bad.

Toyota calls the 2UZ a non-interference, but there’s no promises, all it takes is a little kiss from the cylinder to mess things up

Very informative video but there is one thing you forgot to mention about the first gen Tundra. The frame on the first gen had major rust problems. It was bad enough that Toyota had a frame recall on certain years.

I have a 2005 Toyota tundra. No noticeable rust from what I can tell! But how would you find out more about the frame recall on these trucks?? Just interested would like to know, nice video thank you.

I’m not the owner of the vehicle, I was simply checking out his vehicle and giving him an analysis of the health state the vehicle is in. So yeah. It appears he has a leveling kit installed, and some aftermarket rims with a small increase in wheel size. Don’t know the dimensions though.
